Our first time to Ocean Spa Hotel and we had an exquisite time. My wife and I brought our daughter, 7 and son, 12. The room, cuisine and beach were good but the part that made the trip exceptional was the staff. Irving (Inferno), Armando (Bartender), and Audi (Drink Taker and Ideas) thanks for showing us a great time! Tip these guys well because they are worth it.

A very nice all-inclusive resort. My family and I stayed for 5 days and we really enjoyed ourselves. The staff is amazing. There is beach access. No ocean view rooms though. Although there are generally all day eating options, the food isn't that good. There are several bars available. Very nice pools to choose from. There's a kiddie pool available as well.
Overall I think that this is a GOOD, not great place to stay. I'm sure there are better places but I've stayed in worse, so I'll give it 4 stars. The rooms are nice but the staff is what sells the place. Armando and Audi are my favorite guys on staff. If you meet them you'll see what I mean. And tip them. They'll make your trip much better.response / report this review -

Beach was OK in general. Lots of other reaorts in the area but not really busy. Food was great. Different choices and drinks were of course good. Night events done as well. Hang out by the beach at night Priceless.

I stayed at this hotel part of a promotional event. The hotel was nice for the price. The buffet selection wasn't that big of a selection and was the same everyday, however I loved the fresh fruit. They did have activities avaiable everyday for the guest. Only pickup from the airport is free. They were very accomendating when did ask for anything like extra towels. Did have a few problems with the first room, ants, so we had to switch to a other room where the toilet was constantly running. But if you are out of your room all day no big deal. I wish they offered a bigger food selection and more activities but it was a nice family get-a-away

The service and accommodations were great. The food was on point. I killed the buffet every day. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because I was there for 5 days and did not get drunk. Not sure how that is possible considering I started the mornings with mimosas and ended with tequila.

Hotel was pretty nice. You could tell the structure was older but well cared for. Staff was amazing. Ivan, one of our bartenders, and Miguel, one of our waiters, are among those whose service stands out in my mind.

Stayed here as part of a promo package that required us to attend a membership presentation for their hotel group. The rooms and grounds feel a bit dated in comparison to the other hotels in the area but its clean and well kept. Service was very attentive and the staff works to provide anything you may need. The food was decent. At the buffet, the choices are somewhat limited and some of the unused food seems to be reused to make other dishes for the next meal time. This didn't result in any stomach issues for me. Located between downtown Cancun and the large tourist/hotel area along the main highway. Transportation is available to the other Sunset hotels or hop on a bus if you want to stop anywhere beyond or in between.

The people who works here are amazingly Nice! The ocean waves are not strong so u can get to enjoy the water. The only thing is that there are yacht park out at the ocean. There is a space for the swimming area though. They offer free kayaking as well. 4/5 for the food. 4/5 for the room.

It's definitely a resort for those of us that want to spend more on the fun activities than the room to sleep in. We had an all-inclusive package. Overall, the stay was rather nice.
My family didn't like having to make a reservations before 4:00pm for any of the specialty restaurants because we had planned activities and we were unable to eat at any of them because we left early day. If you don't like outdoor eating, stay away from the snack bar because it is exposed to everything, including the local insects. We didn't mind the buffet and the breakfast was amazing. Lunch and dinner need a bit more variety.
The beach was great. Small waves for my 5 year old and we saw stingrays and lots of fish nearby. The depth is also about 3-4ft even close to the pier.
No comments on the spa. The staff we friendly overall but some of them seem to be a bit frustrated at times. The staff at the buffet were pleasant and the chocolate milk is really, really good. Didn't have drinks, so no comment on the bar. The restaurants there are under strict schedule, beware. My wife couldn't get a water bottle because it was 7:30am and the restaurant/bar opened at 8:00am.
The rooms smelled like they were old. It was humid in there and the A/C had trouble keeping up with the moisture. My wife claimed the bed was hard but we were able to sleep in them just fine. The view from the room was overlooking the pool area and it was nice.
I recommend the resort. It was pleasant and made the family trip affordable.response / report this review -

A relaxed atmosphere. The staff is the hardest working people I have seen. The beach breezes are warm and cool. They wait on you hand n foot. A very clean resort. All the food and drinks. All day. A every year visit. Love ya. Thanks a million.

Stayed here for out first time in Mexico. Everybody, staff and guests are very friendly & helpful. Ocean Spa is a smaller resort, which we really like - we live in a very small town back in northeastern USA. Since it's all-inclusive it makes it easy for food and drinks- don't have to carry around money. Also, the beach is pretty nice, though not the pretty blue water I was expecting.

The hotel has a quaint feel. The rooms are small but passable. Each room has a balcony, which is nice, as most overlooked the pool area of with ocean views. There are at least three bars on the property, including a swim-up bar in the central pool. There is a buff a restaurant as well as themed restaurants which operate on different days of the week. The theme restaurants include Mexican, Asian, and Italian. The condition of the property is okay, but there are some areas which show signs of wear. However, the staff is very diligent about making sure that the property is very clean at all times. It seems like the staff is in non stop cleaning mode. The service staff is also very friendly and attentive. There is a good variety of activities going on throughout the day. The beach area is small but very pretty.

I wanted to give this place a 3 star review, but my wife from Mexico insisted it wasn't even that good. We stayed at the Sina Suites and were recommended to come here as they have an inter hotel plan to let you on the premises. It was a rather nice view but here were my concerns: the drinks were terrible, it was like pulling teeth to get the waiter to come to where we were, it was a pain to get through the front counter, the water was very muddy and seemed like it needed to be cleaned, after waiting forever for a waiter, I had to go back to the kitchen to order a coffee, and everyone avoided me. Must have been an off day as I'm the most patient person you will ever meet.

We got this trip as a bonus week through our exchange company. They charged us $75 per person per day for all inclusive. This is a very small hotel with a tiny shallow beach area - cute area that is very good for toddlers and kids to swim and play. Mainly Spanish speaking guests. Most activities are conducted in Spanish. If you don't speak Spanish, your service is very poor.
Food: A very simple buffet is available all day. Lots of pork dishes, sometimes fish and rarely chicken. The salad bar is very sad, with one bowl of greens and many bowls of creamy fruit or creamy veggie dishes. There is a fruit bar that has a bigger variety of options - papaya, pineapple, grapefruit, oranges, melon. The best meal we had was the fresh omelette bar in the morning. Sandra, the cook, was friendly and fast.
The special restaurants offer Asian, Italian or Mexican. I got salmon at the Asian one. It was very dry, small portions and bland. The Mexican had tortilla soup that was the consistency and taste of creamy red enchilada sauce with maybe a tablespoon of other ingredients. The Italian was creatively presented but the stuffed chicken serving was tiny, over cooked and bland. They use lots of cream in all their cooking but not much else.
Bar: the spirits are very low quality, mainly Jose Quervo and other local cheap liquors. They do offer Don Julio in the main bar but have a small quantity and run out.
Service: The majority of staff was superficially friendly but if you needed something you usually had to ask 3 or 4 times and wait for a long time to get it. The exceptions: Alejandro at the bar was very efficient and friendly. A good conversationalist. Luis in the restaurant is out going and very attentive. Ricki (waiter) is shy at first but warms up quickly if you tease and joke with him.
Room: the room was large with a king size bed which we had to request. At first the front desk hesitated and made it seem like we couldn't have it and then they finally gave it to us. It had a great view of the beach and was the best thing about our stay.
Overall, this is a great place for Spanish speaking families that are looking for an inexpensive vacation and don't care much about the food.response / report this review
