It has a great location but rooms are so so and food not very good. It was fine for the price but nothing special.

though located centrally, this hostal is not the best (and i’ve stayed at a LOT of hostals!).

i booked a private room with private bath and balcony and for that, though it was a room meant for 3 people rather than a single room.

toiletries are not provided—not even hand soap—you have to buy them in a bundle from reception. towels are included.

i told staff while booking that i would arrive at 4am but my single room (which was being occupied by a family because it wasn’t really a single room at all) wasn’t ready until just after noon.

the room had no windows (just a balcony with doors) and so got extremely hot and stuffy at night (i was there in may). there are no fans and leaving the balcony doors open allows for a nice wind but also invited mosquitos.

also, there were roaches in the room. they hid under the bedside tables/dresser when the lights are on and come out when they’re turned off.

a sign at reception says they sell stamps so i asked to buy some and the clerk told me he had to go buy them from the post office. he told me to give him the money for them and the postcards i wanted sent and he would buy the postage and mail them. i agreed and trusted him.

my post cards never arrived. they weren’t even sent for all i know. the money i paid for postage and the souvenirs i sent to specific friends to cheer them up never got to them. before i left this review, i contacted the hostal to see if they were just left behind reception and could still be mailed out, but i was told the clerk who took my money and postcards no longer worked there and the hostal staff had no idea where the postcards we’re. they did offer to resend the cards but that meant asking me to remember and tell them what cards i had bought, what i had written on them, and which card was for whom, etc.

overall, would not recommend unless you’re looking just for a bed to sleep in while passing through mexico city. if you want to actually stay and enjoy your visit in mexico city, then find another place.

First hostel expierence and I loved it. It's in an excellent location, and the staff went above and beyond as far as how helpful they were. I really can't say enough good things about them. I will come stay again my next time visiting Mexico City.

My first time staying at a hostel. I can't say enough good things about them. The staff is very friendly and goes out of their way to ensure you enjoy your stay. Very good prices, which includes free breakfast and dinner. I will make plans to come back again soon. Keep up the good work. :)

Great staff, breakfast and supper included and pretty good ones too. The bar on the rooftop made for a more communal feel and was easy to get to know people. Shot out to Juan the bartender, he's fantastic. Hot showers to if you let them warm up a minute.

Nice Hostel. Very close to everywhere in the city center. Great breakfasts. Nice service. There is also a terrace on the roof with the bar and canteen.

The hostel is located in an absolutely great place. 10 mins walk from the city Centre. They serve delicious breakfasts and dinners - included in the price. The stuff is super helpful and really nice :) I highly recommend this place. Great value for this price!

Awesome breakfast!!!! Particularly chilaquiles!!! Yup! But.. the staffs were not that helpful to solve the trouble of one amazing woman in 4 ppl dorm room. But considering other things, the atmosphere of the hostel was quite good :-)

First, my credit card was rejected, but their webpage didn't send a notification about that, that was a HUGE problem because I had to pay at my arrival and I wasn't considering that money. Then, security on rooms is not great. They only ask for your name to give you access, which is poor. People is nice, yes, location too. Other than that I didn't love it.

I stayed here 5 nights and found the hostel to be quiet, clean, and nice staff. Breakfasts was very good cereal fruit coffee tea bread and one other side of eggs or pancakes. Beds are not the most comfortable but not too bad. Dinner was always basic but good with plenty of vegetables and a main course and rice.

I did not like this hostel very much:

    Cons:
    Rooms have no ventilation
Tried to nickle and dime for everything. $120 fee if you leave food on your plate? Seriously? Management clearly put greed way before hospitality.
Very poor layout for hostel rooms. Outlets are on opposite side of room from beds. No personal shelves by beds. No lights above beds, only one light on the ceiling. Very small lockers which will not fit a backpack. The beds are the plastic pee-proof kind and I honestly feel like I'm paying to sleep in a colorful jail cell.
What's with the gigantic keys? I can't imagine what the logic would be. It's like carrying a ping pong paddle in my pocket all day while I'm trying to explore the city.
Super boring atmosphere. The desk staff literally asked to check my shopping bag when I walked in and confiscated my 2 beers. I asked why and they said because I could buy beers from the machine ($25 for 12oz beer) and they have a bar but it is closed. What kind of lame ass hostel takes people's beer? I couldn't party here if I tried! They should just set quiet hours and let adults be adults. Now I'm sitting here bored and pissed off they stole my beer with nothing better to do but leave a bad review.
For $15usd/night ($275 pesos) you should just get a hotel room and you will be MUCH happier. I'm very glad I only booked one night.

    Pros:
    OK location en el centro
    Ensuite bathrooms
    Reasonably clean
