Hotel itself is very nice, very clean, organized, if you plan to stay at the hotel only I highly recommend it!, rooms are clean, hallways, a lot of activities, the pools are excellent, however! The beach has a lot of rocks under water, please be careful if you bring children or elderly, I recommend that you walk all the way to the right towards the caribe/beach resort area to stay away from rocks. I recommend that you stay st the colonial or tropical, restaurants are better, more variety. Shows at night are great as well, great team. One thing I didn’t like is that’s people smoke around the children’s pool, I didn’t see any do not smoke sign around and I told one of the hostess about it and she said she couldn’t do anything about it since it’s an open area. I believe it’s important that children area should be clean.
Thanks to Gisel Moreno that took her time to ask us how our stay was and we brought everything we like and didn’t like to her.
Bottom line is a great hotel I would stay again yes but only if beach’s rocks gets cleaned and hopefully management place do not smoke signs in the children and family areas.

Great hotel. Amazing service. I'd go back. Food was awesome. I've been to a number of resorts and this is possibly the best one yet. We renewed our wedding vows here. Incredible experience! Honestly can't think of any complaints.

It's my first time having holidays in a resort. We are here in a big number of people and i have to say that work very well. Service here is amazing, very helpful and fast. Lots of different facilities and beautiful beach. Everything well organised. Good choice of food adequate to touristic need as well as choice of local products. Perfect for family holidays.

Bottle waters and cabanas are the best part. Beach is nice. Bring comfortable shoes Lots of walking. Make sure you're shoes have been broken in. No carts to move you around. Oh also make dinner reservations Before you arrive. They are always full. Rooms are a little dated but fine. Staff goes above and beyond. They make the experience much more enjoyable.

Had a great time here. The rooms are good sized as is the hotel and facilities. The bird beaches are beautiful and the activities are so much fun, all the staff treats you so good.

My recommendations would be that the buffet food is of better quality, sometimes it was either cold or undercooked and tasteless. I liked the setting of the nightclub, plenty of room to dance but the alcohol there is super low quality (the same for the pool bars), I felt weird after asking for a drink, plus it took me ages to get one The service there needs some mending.

The sports bar needs more tables because it gets crowded really easy.

Last I went to a tequila tasting. That idea was great and I was very interested but on the execution it fell short. Only three bottles to taste, few people attended and because of the short options there wasn't a chance to try more so I have to say that the tequila was not of good quality.

Guest service was great. Everyone was kind and ready to get what we needed. The service at the restaurants was fast and reliable. Food servings were replenished very often. I only found that when certain basic element from the first-aid kit was needed, it was, very surprisingly, unavailable. Not even for the use of hotel workers. Although we found a store to buy it inside the hotel, the pharmacy closed very early. That, I think, should be solved soon.

Fantastic property, amenities, food, entertainment 1st class. The Beach has beautiful white sand, crystal blue water and a very relaxing atmosphere! Pools and grounds are immaculately manicured and clean. Rooms are beautiful, quiet, modern and spacious. We will be back!

This place is wonderful and peaceful. Amazing family place. The pools are great. The staff Andre at flow rider and was amazing with my 6 year old. Everyone should experience this place. We will be coming back.

Excellent vacation place for the $$$. Good service, clean and well maintained resort. Great food selection for every taste with many bars, restaurants and buffets all over the resort. Specialty restaurants are so so though. Solid 4 stars, not quiet there yet for 5. I also didn't like the fact resort staff is walking around pool areas offering customers a free 24 hour Wi-Fi service in exchange for 5 star reviews on popular travel sites.

All inclusive resort was worth every penny. They provide entertainment, all types of shopping, and the food is delicious. The staff is just wonderful and they will assist you with everything. Concierge dept was helpful. The front desk check in was probably the only time we experience someone rude. Expedia has a private concierge on-site to help you book excursions and tours to anywhere in the area.

We had an awesome friend-cation at Barcelo Maya! Beautiful resort and for my first time all inclusive it was a great experience. Angelo & Paco at the pool were very helpful and helped answer our questions throughout our stay. Would definitely recommend and would like to come back.

The rooms are well-sized and beautiful. Plenty of space in the two queen premium suite for 4 adults, with a huge bathroom. Great view from the balcony. We are a short walk from the beach, pools, bars, and restaurants. The pools are massive and never feel crowded, and are the perfect temperature. There's plenty of chairs surrounding the pool and on the beach. The whole building has an open concept layout that is very cool to be in. Room service can take a little while, but it is understandable considering the immense size of this place. Bartenders are quick to get your drinks, while drink service at restaurants is also fast. Overall, a great place to stay. Plenty of space, shopping, and amenities.

While a vacation with the inlaws is rarely recommended, Barceló facilitated a wonderful experience for us. We spent a majority of our time in the Colonial and Tropical areas. The concierge at the front desk was quite friendly and helpful at check-in and when visited due to user error (don't place room keys next to mobile phones). Our room was comfortable and consistently cleaned. While the beds were a bit stiff we slept soundly, feeling like we were still swaying in the waves. We left each meal satisfied. The buffets provided enough to not have to eat the same thing twice. We enjoyed the food options between that and our specialty meals. The poolside grills were good but had limited variety from day to day and we hoped for more. And of course the pools and beach were wonderful! Plenty of locations to settle down for the day, and we took full advantage of it. The ocean was great for snorkeling while the winds were low and perfect for sailing when it picked up some. And at all times the pool was the right prescription to cool down from the hot Mexican sun. And last but not least the staff was always cheerful to help, fun to interact with, ready to bring us drinks by the pool, or provide assistance whenever needed! It made for an exceptional week!

I didn't want to leave, so many buffet to choose from serving different foods all day. So many epopel working to keep this place spotless. Perfect place for kids with a play center for adult time, play area climbing wall, trampolines, palm tree branches and around 4 pools. This is a fantastic place.

Same food almost every day. Waiter services in restaurant take too long to attend you. Nice installations, beautiful views. The coffee for meetings really bad. It make me sick of my stomach with this coffee. Please avoid this coffee and the milk for meetings rooms. I wasn't the only one that fell ill. In general a beautiful place to stay.

Amazing turquoise warm water and white sand beach! The staff was very hospitable, accommodations were fantastic and CLEAN! They even surprised my husband and I with a cake and bottle of champagne for our anniversary celebration. Several restaurants on the property to satisfy your taste buds along with plenty to drink. Beautiful pools for all ages along with swim-up bars. Playgrounds, basketball court, disco, theaters even on property water park. Love this place, would definitely go there again!

Pros:
- (opinion)good amount of pool area to hang out and on the beach, (fact)we never had to look too long for a spot to sit down
- (fact)kind staff, no complaints towards the people
- (opinion)BEST buffet of all the places I've been to (all inclusive type)
- (fact)dolphin show was a cool addition to the hotel. And if you did not want to swim with them, it was free to watch - a nice little extra.
- (opinion) cool/different/more upscale yet still "inclusive" couple of bars that were located around the hotel complex
Cons:
- (fact)rooms were extremely smelly [mold], to the point where we had to switch rooms, just to get the same. clarification: i do know how climate has to do a lot with this but I feel, I have been to enough tropical hotels to have a comparison.
- (fact)Quite rocky beach. Strong waves made all of us fall on some kind of rock somewhere and end up with a scratch here and there. Not ideal for quick jump into the ocean.
- (fact) entertainment was mostly concentrated around musicals etc. (opinion) where I would prefer more of a magician, animal shows etc. It lacked variety for us and we truly did not stay even once for the entire show.
- (fact) no beach bars. seriously. there were bars by the pool which you had to walk to every time just to get a drink.
- (fact) lack of beach pass through to other place. We love to always walk couple miles each way and this was not an option here. This was definitely a con for us.

Everything was great. Food, drinks, friendly staff. The resort is large with lots of facilities and activities. Yes the maid service is a bit slow but who cares. You don't spend much time in your room anyway and it will be cleaned well before you go to bed.
I highly recommend this place and the only regret I had, was we should have booked for longer than 7 days. I did not want to come home
