Awesome hotel! This place is 2 blocks away from the ocean and steps away from good restaurants and shops. There is so much to do nearby the palm at Playa. The roof top pool is so fun, met lots of people and had lots of drinks! When my friends and I visited we enjoyed that we did not see any children at all.. What a delight! This location only had adults when we stayed for 5 days. We had complimentary breakfast every morning which was delicious. They start with fruit your drink and you meal. If I do go back to The Palm at Playa I would want to come back and stay at this location since it was really pretty and fun to be at. Also if you're looking for nightlife fun you have a discoteca across the road and many more within a 3 to 5 minute walk from the hotel. We have been there in January and we had a very good staying. The hotel is in a good position and everyone was really nice and helped us with different requests. The only reason I don’t give the five stars is because I wasn’t completely satisfied with the service in the roof top pool. I had a clear impression that they were overcharging the prices. Every time the drinks had different prices and they were always higher compared to what was written in the menu. When I said that they tried to explain that the vat was not included (although on the menu is written that it was included) and that they already added the tip. I just stopped going up there to buy the drinks. For the rest,!the hotel is really nice, clean and they have a great breakfast! It was really a relaxing time!

I love this hotel. The staff are wonderful, the rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean and the rooftop bar, pool and restaurant, are a real added bonus. Located a mere 1-minute walk from the beach, the warm and friendly atmosphere make this a hotel I want to return to, time after time.

Great experience! Hotel rooms were spacious and clean, the breakfast was delicious and the service was outstanding. I came here for my bachelorette party and my girls all had a great time. We did everything through the hotel- transportation to the airport and a full day excursions. A huge thank you to Sandra, she was incredible in suggesting and arranging everything.

We had the best time at the Palm at Playa and we’ll definitely stay again- perfect central location. Walking distance to everything. All the staff were so kind and accommodating and put up with our broken Spanish. Special thanks to just a few of the names we can remember. Sandra Lopez, Concierge was outstanding! She arranged everything flawlessly- Xcerta Plus, Rio Secreto, Tulum & Coba. Left us reminder notes in our room for things we needed to bring on our excursions and appropriate times to meet; she even met us at the pick up locations to make sure we were safe and questions answered. So kind and genuinely sweet!
At Breakfast, Hector, Eleas, and Yasmin, to mention a few, were attentive and friendly. We were greeted daily with a big smile and friendly conversation. We were absolutely blown away by the complimentary breakfast and excellent service! delicious-choices! Abundance of food, excellent authentic Mexican cuisine. Lovely way to start our busy days.
The pool staff, were also excellent! To mention two names I can remember- Alfonzo, Cesar, the bartenders were kind, attentive and mixed a mean coconut mojto. The infinity pool and surroundings were beautiful! Loved the ocean views and comfortable lounge chairs. We ate at the roof top restaurant and it was also delicious!
Our cleaning lady- Angela was great! We had everything we needed daily and she quickly accommodated us with extra bottled water and towels when needed. Rooms were clean, spacious and beds were so comfortable. Always left us her personal decorating touch with the towels and flower pedals.

Pretty nice place to spend a day. 500 pesos consumption to use facilities if you, like us, are not a guest of the hotel. Food was surprisingly good.

Paradise at the Palm at Playa del Carmen, Mexico!!! I visited this great hotel on August 14, 2017 and stayed for a few days with a girl friend. I would love to have stayed longer. I also wish I had enough space to adequately compliment the people, the place and the plates. The staff was so accommodating- acting manager Jorge, Miguel at Registration and Sandra at the Concierge desk went above and beyond their official duties to make our stay outstanding. Hector and his team of Samuel, Saul, Joan, and Eleas in the lobby restaurant made going to breakfast (which was included) a wonderful way to start the day. The food preparation and service made being there a real treat. At the Roof Club , Fer was very attentive and made sure we received just what we ordered. Actually, it was just wonderful to be able to overlook the beautiful Infinity pool as we were served. The staff there were very attentive as they spread the colorful towels on the pool chaises for our comfort. I want to also compliment Angela in Housekeeping who made sure we had enough of what we needed and Monica who was quite resourceful at the Concierge desk. I can use the information she passed onto me about the area. The most important experience was when a mishap occurred as can happen anywhere. I really appreciate how Jorge oversaw the resolution of the issue and Sandra took me under her wing as if I were family. Both were determined to fix it. And that they did. I appreciate the personal attention they gave. I sincerely thank all of the staff for being patient and helpful to me as I tried out my basic Spanish. When I again visit Playa del Carmen, my first choice of where to stay will be The Palm at Playa del Carmen if they have room or suite available. Try it out for yourselves. You will not be disappointed at The Palmit's like Paradise!

AMAZING. Small chic boutique hotel, right off Avenida quinta. Perfect location. Rooms are gorgeous. Beautiful pool, great breakfasts. Monica Carrera is a gem and reception is always warm. You will not regret it.

Beautiful hotel with super comfortable rooms. Great pool and Jacuzzi, breakfast is very good and hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend staying here. The location is superb.

I believe this is now called The Carmen. Beautiful hotel. Amazing service. Incredible architecture. Breathtaking views. The pool top patio and Baller suite are outstanding. Worth every penny.

Review for the roof deck bar/pool:
The day pass costs about $15, and you get to use it as cash for the bar, so it's more of a spending minimum.
I came here for lunch, had the grilled octopus with vegetables and several beers- all was covered by the day pass. The food was good, but you're really paying for the access to the swimming pool, lounge beds/chairs, the hot tub, showers, etc. It's a great place to sit with a book, or be social in the pools.
I also went there at night, and it's so peaceful - I relaxed with a date in one of the beds by the pool and drank two for one cocktails until after they closed and turned the lights/music off. A great way to get away from the crowds and have a moment.
I haven't seen the other roof deck bars to compare, but I recommend this one based on my experiences.response / report this review -

Love this place, but some of the rooms are a little dark. The rooftop is the place to be in the evening. The food is excellent.
