Typical railway station in kalani weli road. All the trains are stops at here including the rail buses. And not as busy as the largest railway stations in country like Pettah maradana and galle to include, but it's busy than many railway stations. And it has two platforms and both of them are busy sometimes. Facilities are good considering other SL railway stations.

Large station here. Toilet, free wi-fi, water available here. One of main station on kelaniweli line. Lot of trains are available at morining and everning. This is very imortant to dairy traverlling passengers due to heavy traffic available on high level road above time. Mainly train are available to pannipitiya, kottawa, homagama, godagama, meegoda, watareka, padukka, avissawella, Nawinna, nugegoda, kirulapone, narahenpita, kota road, baseline road, maradana, colombo fort from here.

It's saves huge amount of time if you choose to travel by train in mornings and evenings. But it's a basically one way travel each time. Maharagama to Colombo in the morning and vice versa.
Google the departures for avoid inconvenience.

Small station compared to the fact that it is one of the important stations in the Kelani valley railway line, and that so many passengers use the station as a transit point for their daily commute. The station is located few hundred meters away from the town center and is behind the Pamunuwa market area - therefore is highly crowded, on top of the fact that the road leading up to the station is one way.

After replacement of narrow gauge trains to broad gauge trains now the number of passengers use trains have increased and thus Maharagama has become a major station.
