This hostel is perfect for having an enjoyable and chilled stay in Luang Prabang. We stayed for 5 nights and spent most of that time in the nice dorms or on the rooftop to play pool. Great place to meet people! Highly recommend. The family that runs it is wonderful as well!

Very cheap and excellent hostel, near center of Luang Prabang and Phousi mnt, old street, very clean, toilet in every dorm room, a lot of toilet outside, the best rooftop with excellence breakfast I ever seen. Very nice and helpful staffs, I can rent a bike and call a tuk tuk to airport with cheaper price than usual. Thank to host :)

Decent place, well priced with nice breakfast options. Banana pancakes are the best thing on the menu. Relatively social with the rooftop and close to some nice cafes, but a fair walk away from the town centre.

The Vietnamese host is supportive, rooms & beds are ok but i do not rate 5stars because he sold us bus tickets which are 25,000 LAK more expensive than normal ones and the point is: This bus is for pigs, not for human :((

I met a lot of really nice people at this hostel and we all went out bowling together. The breakfast is amazing, and the staff can help you arrange trips to the waterfalls and book bus tickets for you.

The owner came at a group of us after trying to get home from the hostel after a night of bowling.
He literally was sleeping in the front of the hostel and got so mad he started turning breakers off so we couldn't see to get back to our rooms
Then he literally picked up a beer bottle and started threatening people with it!
It does not matter how tired you are or frustrated, people come into hostels at all hours, if you are not okay with that then you should hire someone else or get a new job. It is definitely not okay to attack your customers!
Also the wifi only works on the top floor, the laundry is a joke, it smells better than when you sent it up, but still is not as clean as sending it somewhere else, and the AC does NOT work in any of the rooms. It is basically like having fans since it doesn't cover the amount of room in the bunks.
The breakfast is pretty good though. 1 of 10 options available.
I would definitely recommend somewhere else if you don't like being threatened by the hostel owner.
If you are quiet and in bed at a decent hour then you are probably fine here
Rooftop (common area) is also closed at 10pm. (Same crazy owner closes it down who threatened multiple people for coming home)response / report this review -

Clean and comfortable. Free breakfast included! Close to everything, including some great bars. They also organize their own tours and bus transport departing directly from the hostel. Laundry service offered as well.

I give 3 stars because of the good shower, location not bad, not close but not so far from the main interesting places. Breakfast in the nice open rooftop was ok but too cold in the morning. Bad management, unkind manager and in my case, being scammed with the overpriced ticket for a bus, are strong reasons not to recommend this place. The manager refused 3 days in a row to sell me the sleeper bus ticket in advance, in a very unkind manner. Said there would be no problem in booking the same day of my journey. Upon my check out, he charged very expensive for the sleeping bus, but I wanted to avoid the hassle of going to the bus station with heavy luggage. So I bought it. But then he made a phone call and said that they had no more seats for the sleeping bus. I wanted to know WHY he had refused to sell the ticket when I asked 3 times, but he laughed instead of answering. He offered me a so called "V.I.P." bus, for very little difference in price. I had no choice but to accept. Then they transferred me on a tuk tuk, not to the bus station, but to a random street where something that might have been a bus 50 years ago, but not today, was waiting for me. I've travelled for many years and seen many really bad, dirty and falling to pieces buses, but this was the worst. Filthy, smelly, overloaded and with broken seats (and broken everything you can think of) it stopped a million times during the whole night, turning on a killing light on our eyes (the light possibly the only thing working on the wretched thing) and depriving us of any possibility of sleeping during the 12 nightmarish hours. Of course I understood clearly why the guy had refused to sell the real ticket. Hope you don't fall in the same trap.

Clean dorms and bathrooms. A great selection for breakfast, which is included in the price. When booking with booking.com, be aware that the price is per person, even if you registered several people. Though they have experience with that issue and handle it professionally usually.
