Booked a room here last minute as our original hostel was as humid as a greenhouse. Not sure why there are so many good reviews, I certainly wouldn't recommend this accommodation to anyone unless they were desperate.
Pros:
- AC strong, blasting out cold air
- Beds slightly softer than others we've encountered in South East Asia (still very hard though)
- 2x large soft fluffy pillows per person, and towel
- Strong WiFi from Room 102 down steps by Reception.
- Water pressure was ok
- Breakfast ? [TBC]

Cons:
- Room smelled quite bad upon entering, like smelly river water. Dissipated after a while of pumping the AC
- 3 mosquitos spotted upon entering
- Quite poor cleanliness, everything in the room was stained; walls, aircon remote, mattress, duvet, sheets, towels, etc
- Many types of stains; blood, dirt, and what looked like little lots of felt tip stains - we found out these were bed bug poop stains. Thoroughly investigated and found some dead ants on the bed and one unidentified small dead bug on the mattress seam, but no live bed bugs thank god.
- Found lots of hair and a bit of eggshell, gravel, and fluff in my sheets, in the other bed some dried rice was also found
- Found used tissues stuffed down side of bed
- Found 2 half empty water bottles in the drawer
- Heavily caked dirt and dust on the bed headboard/railing
- AC quite cool when initially turned on, then not so cool. Held together with duct tape, and an annoying extra piece of tape flapped loudly in the wind.
- No ventilation in the bathroom, this may be the cause of the musty bad smell
- Staff come in and turn off your AC while you're out, so the room regains its musty smell if you're gone for a few hours.

The staff are extremely kind and helpful though they don't really speak English very well. The rooms were not so clean but it was ok

It was excellent ! Staff was great ! I love my morning walks in the area , nice place to stay , everything is near by! Price is reasonable:) highly recommended !!!

This guesthouse is great - a little on the expensive side but I wanted a private room for a few nights ($15 per night) and it was well worth it. Under 10 mins walk to the centre of town/night market. The owner is so friendly and will organise trips to the waterfall/caves/onward travel for you no problem. Comfy bed and free towels. There seems to be an issue with the plumbing as every now and then my toilet would make strange noises but it wasn't annoying, more curious. Breakfast could be a little better, but overall this is a great place to stay in Luang Prabang.

Super nice family runs this place. Very quiet in the evening and has excellent WiFi. Note that it's been renamed Global Guesthouse but many Tuk-tuk drivers know it as Liberty still.

I stayed here with my sister and boyfriend during Christmas of 2013. We waiting to book in Laos and everything had sold out so we went with Liberty Guest House even though it didn't have any reviews online. The location is quiet and it is about a 15-20 minute walk from the Luang-Prabang town center. Though the staff was friendly and breakfast was decent, the accommodations were not acceptable especially compared to other guesthouses around SE Asia. We would definitely not stay here ever again.

We ended up getting very sick during our 3 days here. The staff provided one very thin blanket per bed (two blankets total) despite the freezing temperature drops during night time. We asked for extra blankets, and they stated that none were available. The room had no insulation and a huge crack under the door so we were freezing after putting on 6+ layers each (essentially all the clothes we had packed). Additionally, we were originally told that there would be a heating available in the room. We noticed that it was not working and the manager came upstairs to help us, said the heating was fine and turned the AC to full blast. Though the days were warm, the temperature dropped sharply at night; we were pretty miserable during our stay here and could not wait to leave. I recommend booking in advance in peak season and going with another place that has decent reviews online. It would also be worth it to pay a little bit more and get a better accommodation that can fulfill basic needs.
