Loved my stay here. Self-run by a super friendly lady who gave us tips all around when asked. Nice common area with a small garden and free coffee, tea and water all day. Wifi doesn't work that well in some rooms but that's fine for me you just take 5 seconds to walk outside.
Also close to all the attractions. The local market street is just on the opposite side when you exit the main street (slightly to the left), where you can find loads of local produce and great food. The main walking street is about a 5-minute walk away as well.
Would highly recommend for a couple or two (only 60,000 kip per night per person for a twin or triple-sharing room. Maybe even cheaper if you stay longer and make friends with her). Rooms are nice and cosy and I slept like a baby.
Not that worth it as a single traveller on a budget (100k a night for a single room), so you might want to consider some of the backpacker hostels around instead if you are on a budget (about 30-50k for a bed in a 8- or 12-sharing hostel).response / report this review -

They don't get 5 star coz the noise (not the street,but the other guests).Management must take care of this: when people arrive around midnigth and they spend start talking in the common area (in between of rooms)is quite annoying.They should work to keep It quiet&calm during sleeping hours.
They don't do your room everyday unless asked.
If they solve this issue they will get 5* ;)response / report this review -

Good location, quiet area. Coffee and tea for free. Beautiful common area. Wifi works really well in common area and next to, not in all the rooms. Cleaning of the room. Nor every day. Important!! They need to keep the common area QUIET!! Many times cleaners and staff are around doing lot of noisy or even singing! Same for the guests after 22h This is why they don't get 5 stars

Stay here 3 day. Its was warm and chill almost home stay. Some free drinks all days, nice owner and his family. They give my discount and room was cheep and clean. Wifi works like a speedboat, sometimes:)

It is a very nice place, nearly in the centre of Luang Prabang. There is a common area where you can eat. Tea and coffee free in the morning. It's clean, hot shower and fan. It could be a bit noisy as the neighbours can get a bit loud!! I had a room with Mount Phousi view!!! Near the day market to grab delicious food. The owner is a pleasant person. It a very good price for Luan Prabang. 100,000kip. March 2017.

Clean rooms (Fan/TV/Western Toilet/Wifi) Price Ok. 100m to Centre. But neightbors singing very loud and bad Karaoke in the evening.

Auf der Durchreise im Herbst 2015 durch Laos haben wir in diesem Guesthouse übernachtet. Den Tipp hatten wir aus dem "Steffan Lose - Reiseführer". Im Vergleich zu anderen Unterkünften in Laos war das mit Abstand die Beste im Verhältnis Preis/Leistung.
Das Bad war sehr sauber, es hatte sogar eine Spülung. Zimmer auch perfekt. Am letzten Tag stellte sich heraus, dass der Besitzer deutsch spricht. Er hatte in den 60-ern in Dortmund Maschinenbau studiert. Also alles sehr empfehlenswert. Lasst Euch nicht von dem Weg zum Guesthouse abschrecken, die Seitengasse sieht auf den ersten Blick sehr verlassen aus.response / report this review
