A short walk to the city across the bamboo bridge or the motor cycle bridge. Quiet street and with all the things you need to live in the house if you want to do the homely style as well as take away restaurants nearby..

The house is probably ok for families that wish to contain their kids but for adults who want to be near the 'action', this is a very inconvenient location.

It is a 40 minute walk to the centre of the town, a 10-15 minute bike ride (the connecting over river, bike bridge is for the confident rider only), or 50,000Kip circa AUD8.50, Tuk Tuk rip off - not that it is easy to find one from this location.

For the three of us (1 single, 1 couple), the issues were:
1. houses being built on both sides, with associated planing, drop saws etc from 7am
2. A man who makes aluminium and glass cabinets across the road - using a drop saw all day from 730am
3. Bedroom AC which didn't cope with conditions and no AC in the living area, making it unusable in the afternoon due to direct sun.
4. No TV at all, not even a screen to play USB held Movies/TV on
5. A crappy and mostly useless CD player with tinny micro speakers
6. Terrible water supply which at times was non existent
7. Power that flickered and went off every day - don't put your washing on at night!
8. Lounge furniture suitable for cool conditions (fabric covered), not hot sweaty Laos.
9. No basics like soap, umbrellas etc.

I am a very seasoned traveller, staying in cheap and luxe accommodation. For me it comes down to offer and price. The offer didn't disclose most of the above and the price is too much for a basic house offer.
