Room 萬葉 is good, dinner was below expectation, service is okay public bath facility is average. Gift shop is small, rooms with hot spring bath are recommended.

Nice place and a cool experience. Loved the public bath/Onsen as well as the in-room onsen. The building and room needed some updating. Wallpaper was peeling and some other areas needed to be repaired. Overall a good experience.

Very close to Kyoto. 25 minutes by train from Kyoto station. Very good water, food.

Superb experience. Great location. Free shuttle service (need to call hotel at train station.) We had a room with direct feed of onsen into a tub that oversees the lake. Great food. Great amenities. Clean. Spacious. Wonderful.

I think they do an amazing job at marketing because their pictures looked great when I booked through agoda.
The place is a little bit challenging to find and you will need to call them at ogoto station when you arrived.
You dial "0" then the number and it will work
Of you are not sure, you can ask the stations staff and they can teach you.
Once we arrived at the onsen, we were welcome by the staff an wed they helped us with our luggage. The staff took us to our room and it was so clean and comfy!
The tea they provide is salty because it is for post onsen to rejuvenate. The electrolytes so it's not green tea.
During the check in, they will ask you when you would like dinner 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00. We picked 7:00 because we want to go to onsen before dinner.
In the room, there is yukata for you go wear, towels and all the amenities you need. Elastic band, toothbrush, cotton pad, razor, comb . Everything. They also have toner, shampoo as well.
Here is a tip, make sure you bring your towels downstairs to the onsen (one small, one big) because there isn't any there. You can grab a mini bag they provided for you underwear, socks and goods.
When you walk down, there is a men and women. You can lock your keys and phone in there and according to the locker number, you have a clip to identify your slippers and the basket you will use.
Then you have to get but naked and shower before you go into the onsen. I went in 10 minutes washed myself again and went it (it's supposed to clean out your skin).
When you are done, they have a station for your to dry your hair so you really don't need to go back to your room to shower.
The dinner was a set menu and it's seasonal. The staff is super friendly even though they don't speak English.
If you want, you can go back to the onsen before sleep and it was perfect after days of walking around.
For breakfast, you are given a brefakst buffet during check in and then once you are seated you can grab your food. They serve both traditional Japanese breakfast (fish, miso soup, rice, egg, side dishes) or Western (sausage, bacon, bread, cereal, fruits, juice and milk) and both are good.
After breakfast, you can go for an onsen again (if available) or pack and check out.
The check out process was super easy and we go a shuttle bus ride back to the station.
The place was incredible and really quiet which is a nice getaway after being in Tokyo where it's so busy.response / report this review -

Theres this one waiter whos a bit pressured and did not able to provide quality service in our course meal which took 2 hours, their salmon breakfast a bit salty not what usually expected in japan quality food.
However, onsen for public and private at the rooms is great, they dont provide socks though a bit turn off.
The rest friendly and good service, with fetching from train station.response / report this review -

The building is dated and service average. when I arrived at the train station I called them for the shuttle bus pick up and they said it would come in 5 minutes. it actually took them 20 minutes for a 3 minutes ride. The room layout is good with private outdoor hot spring hub on the balcony. Food was a little bit disappointing given the price. they used top grade ingredients and the presentation was good but somehow the flavors just didn't gel together. location is pretty good with nice lake view. Probably won't go back again.

The onsen with great lake view! Big room n comfortable details. Their dinner set is really impressive too. I have keep revisiting for 3 times.
