Rooms were clean during my stay, Kitchen is a bit small, wifi is included with stay.

We stayed here 3 years ago and it is still great. Staff are friendly and speak english as well as othee languages. One was playing RHCP in the reception. Rooms are clean amd have everything you need. Private room has requested tatami beds, toilet, bathroom, tv, aircon, window, table, body wash and shampoo, blow dryereverything you might need. There is a laundry for guests. Bikes to rent. Common area and kitchen. Great location, only a few minutes walk from Kyoto station but is still quiet. Cannot fault this place!

Staff not friendly. No smile to customer. Room bedsheet full of dust. Did not give discount coupon upon check in. I only realized there is a coupon when I check in in Osaka Hana Hostel

All the staff are knowledgeable and helpful as well as being quite forgiving of mistakes! Rooms and common area including bathrooms were clean and tidy. I will be going to their other locations as well.

Great location and price for what you get. A traditional Japanese layout (where you sleep on the floor on bamboo mats and has sliding doors). Just have to be wary about the dryness in these rooms as well as the building being or rooms not being sound proof. They do however provide you with earplugs. And note there are no stairs (but it is just three floors).

An absolutely adorable little hostel. It's a short walk from Kyoto station and can be done through the underground which is a huge blessing in the August heat. The staff are friendly and while the common space is small, there are plenty of facilities so you aren't pressed to find a bathroom. The bunks are pretty large with modest storage and you can rent a lock to secure your valuables. My biggest complaint is the air conditioner broke in the middle of the night and made the place insufferably warm. I couldn't tell if this was due to it being an old unit or a guest fiddling with the settings though. Barring that, it's one of my favourite hostels.
