Quiet Ryokan for the quintessential traditional Japanese room experience. A lot of foreigners visited however due to this a lot of English support. Recommend asking for a Japanese style breakfast over a western one as it leaves a lot to desire.

We stayed in a traditional room with the futon and little tables which was very unique. It was spotlessly clean, albeit a bit on the small size but I guess that’s part of the experience. The owner and the staff are all lovely and couldn’t do enough to accommodate us. We stayed for a couple of nights as part of our honeymoon and the owner very kindly gifted us a lovely pair of traditional chopsticks which we will cherish forever. As we were leaving it was raining slightly and the owner chased us down the road with umbrellas for us which was extremely thoughtful. We returned them the next day on our way to the station. We didn’t have the traditional breakfast but it looked very good.

Cozy and warm. Had a great experience here. Stayed 4 nights. The staff were super friendly and polite. Most of the staff spoke some English which was extremely helpful for our group. Our room slept 3 with roll-up mattresses on the tatami mat floor. The bedding was so soft and fluffy we wanted to take it home with us. The bathroom was immaculate. Both the Japanese style and Western style breakfasts were delicious. Quick and easy access to Kyoto Station. Love it.

My wife and I checked in here in early April 2015 and our primary goal was to see the annual Sakura blossoms. When you visit Kyoto, it should be nice to stay in Japanese-style hotel with a traditional neighbourhood, particularly if it is within walking distance from the Kyoto Station. We were attracted to the nearby Sakura blossoms to and from the hotel!

We went to Kyoto on a whim and found this gem on Google. Decided to check in late (initially for a night) but they were extremely accommodating and was able to get two nights in. Staff was super friendly and we couldn't be more happy with our stay at a Traditional Japanese guesthouse!

This ryokan is reasonable price with warm welcome to the guest. Clean and easy to sleep. The location also great since it located near Kyoto station.

The room is great and very comfortable. There is tatami inside and kimonos. Consierges speak good English and are very kind and available to give suggestions on what to do in Kyoto.

Staff is wonderful. At least one member of the staff speaks English. Room was very clean and comfortable. It's a traditional Japanese room, so you're sleeping on a futon in the floor. They have a coin operated washer and dryer that you can use.
