  Stayed here just over a year ago. Very helpful staff. Each bed comes with curtain. Nice communal area with plenty of kitchen utensils.

  The staff is super friendly. More than capable in English and they have a lot of knowledge in what's happening in Kyoto.

  Nice place, near kyoto station, clean.. you can get free rent bicycle if stay for 3 days or more

  it doesn't have elevator but you can keep you suitcase at locker room an first floor. walk to kyoto st about 15 minutes. the whole building is quite small.

  I had a great time there two years ago. Staff was very patient and friendly. They gave me everything I needed : maps, explanations to travel around the city, nice and quiets places to see, good restaurants, You can even rent a bike.
  It is very well located, 5min walk to a subway station and a bus stop is just accross the street.
  The rooms are big and you have a small locker where you can put your belongings. There is a big common room with a fully equiped kitchen, sofas, television,
  It was so great , I am coming back next year :)

  I stayed here for only one night, my dorm room was big, every bed has curtains so there was some private space for everyone, plus the beds were very comfy. There was only one shower and one toilet on my floor, I'm afraid that may not be enough sometimes. My room's window faced the road so it was a bit noisy during the night because of traffic. Overall however a pleasant stay.

  Stayed with J-hoppers in Osaka and had a great time. Kyoto's branch is also fantastic and well run. Would prefer if common room had a glass door or something to entice more people but still very good place to base yourself in Kyoto
