Quaint Ryokan in central area near shopping and restautants near historic Teramachi street . Excellent attentive service. They showed us to our room, gave us a tour of the complex and explained how everything worked. Beds were comfy even though they were on the floor. Bathroom was quite small because you are supposed to use the public bath there. Public bath Onsen was great. Everything you needed was there and we had a great time making use of it. Free tea, and snacks in room. Tea ceremony. Ryokan felt like a tiny piece of paradise in city.

This is a great traditional Japanese ryokan hotel located in a quiet section of Kyoto but very close to transit and shopping. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, the futons and bedding were very comfortable, and nice great amenities like green tea were included. Air conditioning and free Wi-Fi were very much appreciated. The onsen (public bath) was a great place to relax in the evening!

Beautiful rooms, I highly recommend ordering in advance for the dinner. 11 courses and amazing. Not for picky eaters though.

Big rooms. Loved the public bath. Hotel staff are friendly but English is not good.

Great little ryokan. Family run and the host we're super friendly and helpful. I got breakfast one of the days which was pretty decent. Great for when you're planning to head out early. The room itself is comfortable and spacious.

Great service, delicious traditional breakfast, enjoyed tea ceremony in the morning, staff speaks adequate English, public bath very relaxing, room was actually quite spacious compared to other traditional western hotels in Japan.

One of my favor stay in Kyoto. Speak English. Very nice people. But room condition is just okay.

Short walk from the subway. Rooms are tiny, so not a lot of space to move around though the mattresses can be folded up temporarily to make space if needed. Service is great. Was given a tour of where the public bath was before being shown the room. Free tea ceremony demo also available during the stay.
