My husband and I really enjoyed the museum! It was so cool to see all of the historical artifacts, turf houses, etc. at this museum. We could have spent the whole day here! There's so much to look at and you can actually go into the old houses, which was really neat. We definitely recommend coming to this museum if you are in the area!! The tickets are inexpensive and you get a wonderful sense of Icelandic history.

This little place had a very interesting story inside and a few little grass houses outside to explore. Make sure to come and see it when you go see the falls. Full sized boat is a must see

Museum is closing, private family ownership, wants to spend more time with their farming. Hope someone takes over for them because this is an excellent historical place.

Everyone should stop here, the Museum was awesome, the turf village and other buildings were so unique and well cared for, and a great opportunity to see what life may have been like. Also the lunch was delicious and the price was good too.

Very interesting musueum where we can see and learn a lot of things about the life of icelander since a long time. It's amazing to visit the village and to discover the evolution of the transport and communications There is a real viking boat very beautiful.

They have some interesting things, but I did not feel life there was a narrative. Just looking at things is not enough for the price.

There are really three museums here. The museum of transportation has some vehicles, communication equipment, and an interesting display on early hydroelectric power generation in rural Iceland. The folklore museum has a collection of interesting artifacts from rural life in Iceland. There is also a collection of structures that show both the earliest homes built by the settlers, and some notable wooden structures built later. I highly recommend spending an hour or two here.

I truly wish we had had more time to visit this museum. They have an outstanding collection of artifacts that tell the history of Iceland. There is a good souvenir shop here as well.
