Great place, very welcoming warden, clean water, gas, toilet, even wifi. Cons: exorbitant room price and windy camping ground outside with sharp stones. But well, hard to expect more at this spot.

Hut for approx. 20 persons, has kitchen facilities but nu running water. Heading in/from direction of Skogar, ensure you follow the red/blue trial along the river, nice views.

This was our best experience camping in Iceland on this route. Most places are just out to get your money. The warden a lovely lady is more interested in hosting you and seeing to it that you enjoy your stay in comfort and safety.
Don't bother stopping at the other hut. This is a much more friendly and small / cute place.

Simple renovated shelter which offers the chance to spend the night there even if the hut (some 2 km away) is closed.
