The breakfast was included, but very limited. Eggs, bacon, some bread. That was it. Very disappointed that alcohol (i.e. bloody mary or mimosas) was not available to guests. When on vacation, the mimosa or bloody mary are popular items in the am. Check wasnt available to us until after 2pm when we arrived at 9am after being up 24 hours. Waiting around 5 hours after traveling for 12 hours was the pits. I slept on their lobby couch like a vagabond until the room was available. Each day we where there we saw new arrivals doing the same thing, so this is a consistent issue the hotel doesn't seem to want to address.

I stayed at the Radisson Blu 1919 on 14th, 15th & 16th December.
I was pretty disappointed by the experience. This was despite adjusting my expectations give my research on Trip Advisor – I know this wasn’t going to be one of Club Carlson’s best hotels.
The front of desk staff didn’t greet or make us feel particularly welcome at any point. The front of desk staff were often absent too, which was frustrating. On check in, the person checking me in didn’t mention a complementary upgrade (I’m a gold member) or let me know why there wasn’t an upgrade (it’s subject to availability). There was no offer of bags to the room, overview of the facilities, offer of a wake-up call. It was just poor and lazy.
The room’s we’re quite dated. The desk was dusty (under the glass top). The bathroom tiles grout needed cleaning. The bathroom itself is very dated. The duvet cover isn’t big enough for the bed (I think we had a double duvet on a queen-sized bed).
I booked 3 separate 1 night stays (one paid, one using an e-cert and one with points). I asked the lady of we could make it so we didn’t need to check in/out (something I’ve done before) but she said it wasn’t possible and I should have booked 3 days straight. The next day however, someone did do this for me. Again, it just felt like lazy service.
The building needs a revamp. The walls are scuffed, there’s exposed wires above the fire doors, the wooden floors are scuffed. It just looks worn.response / report this review -

I booked on points as a gold member and got placed into the worst room in the hotel overlooking a noisy loading dock.
The bathroom had grime between the tiles and the toilet did not fully flush. Spent toilet paper floated in the basin on arrival.
Housekeeping did not knock upon entering in the morning. There was a loud crashing noise very early in the morning, either from the loading dock or from a housekeeping closet.
An unauthorized charge of ~$120 was made to the credit card I supplied for incidentals. I was told the next morning it was an error and it will be reversed. "Sorry."
Service is bad, which is strange because Iceland usually boasts excellent and friendly service. The front desk workers barely smile and do not appear to enjoy working here. I'm half-glad no one asked me how my stay was.
Good points: The location is excellent! It is near downtown, and the famous hot dog stand is just out front. Road noise is low. Wifi is fast and reliable.
Overall: This is a barely passable hotel in a great location, priced far higher than it's worth. Iceland is expensive but the 1919 is a plain bad deal. For the same amount of money, you could book a private apartment a couple minutes away (and support a local!). Or, you could book a private hostel room in the city center. This is my 10th day travelling. Jet lag is a huge issue. The bed was so comfortable, I slept for 10 hours. Free Wi-Fi for as many devices as I need to connect. This is good because I have 5. Signal is strong. Room is large but there is only a small chair if you don't sit at the desk or in bed. The hotel is centrally located in the old part of town. Great place to use as a base for your self guided walking tours.

Clean and tidy. The staff is nice and helpsome. The rooms are small. The hotel is situated in a busy night area. Compared with other capitals in Europe you don't get value for money at this hotel.

Perfect location if you want to stay in the city center. But be aware of party noise in the streets at night, especially Fridays and Saturdays.

Poor hotel. Tired interior, not 4 star. Initially given room we couldn't stand up in - shoved into the eves of the hotel (at $260 a night). No other rooms were available and the offer of €30 discount was completely unacceptable. Took over an hour and a half to arrange a transfer to their sister hotel outside of town. No apology given. Bad experience.

HORRIBLE - there was a mix up on dates, i tried to cancel with 3 months notice. They REFUSED, cited policy. I offered to find a mutually agreeable solution - REFUSED, cited policy.

This hotel is beautiful. The rooms feel authentic, well appointed and warm. The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Reykjavik within just a few steps of anything you could want. The staff is friendly if a little cold. The two things I would caution is that there is no free parking and like most for in Reykjavik, the restaurant and bar find no less than $15 dollars a plate with most options being in the $20s. We have loved our stay here and anyone who is drawn to this beautiful country will agree.
