Highlight of our Iceland trip. The glaciers were so blue, and there were seals just swimming around everywhere as well. It was absolutely stunning. I would recommend stopping by one of the parking lots off the main road (south of the bridge), instead of the more tourist spot where the boats take off. There is a lot more room to walk around and walk on the beach (no seals here though).

Breathtaking, watching the mini-bergs floating out to sea while seals frolick in the water is absolutely amazing! Really enjoyed our visit there ❤

free parking available, with public toilet (not the cleanest like construction toilet potties) it is almost a 5 hour drive from Reykjavik, but it is worth the drive! we made it just in time to see the orange sunset go behind the snowny mountain. it went from blue to orange to pink in a few hours. amazing what nature can do! the lake will be clear of ice, and then minutes later sheets of ice formed on the lake. we even saw glimpses of seals dancing away in and out of the water.

I really wanted this place to be magical. Sadly it’s a big tourist trap. That’s ok. But if you don’t walk around the views are just so so. Expect to see tons of people. The glacier is so far way and the icebergs are cool but much better at iceberg lagoon

Literally across the road from Diamond Beach is a glacier. You know, because Iceland. It's impressive, but really you should be spending less time reading this and more time figuring out how to get to both of these places. Get your Iceland on.

Amazing view. Really cool to see the icebergs floating around in the lagoon. With the glacier in the background the view just gets even better. There is also some seals swimming around, and every now and then, jumping from the icebergs into the lagoon. Highly recommended.

Amazing lagoon. You can see the ice even during the summer. I took those pictures in June/2017

This place is just amazing, so much of Iceland is very like my home of Scotland and then you get to this place! We had perfect weather as well which was extra special as the weather so far has been pretty bad! Definitely worth walking around the side of the lagoon, not sure how far the walk goes but we did a good few kilometres! Seals were out and about as well.

Wow, wow, wow! Surreal landscape. One of our highlights in Iceland.

Lots of parking here on both sides of the bridge. Boat trips are offered, but book well in advance. Even in Mar/Sep it's fully booked.

    Drone flying is prohibited here.

Fantastic to see "icebergs" drifting to the sea. The blue color is very intense. A must see stop on the ring road.

Visited in July. Great place to take photo.. my advise: stay away from the bridge as there are too many tourist bus. 100m away before or after the bridge is just as beautiful

Do not miss Jokulsarlon. It is stunningly beautiful and you don't even need a zodiac tour to understand the true beauty. You can visit at any time, day and night. Beautiful in both seasons, especially under the aurora borealis.

Stunningly beautiful, the blue glaciers in the winter contrasted with the rest of the mountains. Be sure to check out the beach as well.
