Beautiful place. Start at the visitor center for a variety of hikes. Visitor center has shop and toilets. Parking can be paid at visitor center and is valid for entire day.

Amazing, the views and place is incredible. Camping was great fun but there was no where to charge my phone except for the toilets 🤣 but overall a great experience.

Excellent camp ground (showers and toilets were meh, but it looked like they were building new ones). Friendly staff, nice shop, cafeteria on site, lots of trails (most seemed to be closed on the winter, but you can still get to the glacier and falls). There's a place to book tours and hikes and stuff in the parking lot

I highly recommend this park. The campground appears to be excellent, however due to the cold only the visitor center had warm showers and working toilets when I stayed there, so the ranger let campers stay on the visitor center parking lot (to keep the distance to the facilities down). I did inspect the site and think it is well done. I'll try it out during a warmer month. It's very easy to hike to glaciers or waterfalls from here. You also have great views of the mountains. The cafeteria is also pretty good and reasonable for Iceland. Friendly helpful rangers. definitely worth spending time in this park.

We parked our camper van here overnight on February 13. We made the mistake of paying for parking separately during the day, later we learned it would have been included with camping but they couldn't refund us the difference. The location is great and the dryer was appreciated but other than that you are paying for the use of the washroom. There were no indoor facilities for cooking, although a small indoor dish washing area was opened. There was free wifi in the visitor centre.

I love ALL of the National parks in Iceland. We went glacier hiking here and could not say enough about how cool this park is. Unfortunately we weren't able to experience more of it

Huge glacier region. We went to the ‘Hollywood Glacier ‘ for glacier walks on 21/12/17, followed by ice caves in different parts of the National park today. As we followed the tour group ‘ Aurora Hunters ‘ with 37 onboard on a 3 days South Coast tour, covering 1200 km over the period, visits to each place was relatively short. Would be great to be able to join smaller group to spend more quality time

Amazing! It was really beautiful. Walking on glaciers was very special experiece. If you make reservation, they will provide basic equipments such as crampons, t-stic and so on. Only walking glaciers takes around 3 hours. It seems little bit tough but you will see breathtaking views.

Great spot to walk right up to Vantajökull glacier. We were there in late November, and could walk across the frozen lake and around all sides of the glacier. Also has a waterfall hike and some other trails.

This park has several attractions other than svartifoss so be sure to plan to spend more time here. There are also a couple of walks leading to the face of the glaciers if you're not going for any glacier walk tours.

Information is available at the information centre which has a gift shop as well.

This place has such unbelievable beauty !! We were not prepared for how wonderful this hike would be. There are numerous trails of all different difficulty levels. We did S5 which involves hiking up past some waterfalls and then provides a great view of the glacier. The weather in late September was perfect and we found ourselves shedding layers as we got further and further up the trail. It is so nice to breathe such fresh air and be around lush greenery and constantly running fresh water. This is one of the top highlights of our 6 day trip along Southern Iceland and we would consider it a must-do as long as you like hiking. Plan to spend 1 to 4 hours here depending on which hike you choose.

Parking is paid for by your license plate number. There is a nice cafe with vegetarian and vegan options. There is a tap to fill up water bottles for free. Enjoy !

Need to see. This area is awesome. We went to the glacier lake Jökulsárlón. You could sit there for hours just watching the ice on the move. Saw seals too.

There is a camping ground right on the entrance to the park which is where we stayed. They have showers but no proper kitchens. Trekked to the glacier (approx 2.7kms one way) and view from the top is amazing. There is also a trek to the waterfall which is more popular but we skipped because frankly at that point waterfalls stopped amazing us!

Great National park with plenty to do. There is too much to offer a visitor here to explain properly here. Very popular for good reason. Great day hiking available! Terrific views available for those willing to hike a strenuous trail. Weather can change quickly, so be prepared if you're hiking any distance away from the visitor centre.

Awesome stop! The waterfall is about a 2.8 kilometer hike uphill almost the entire way. It's worth the view though :)

Beautiful park with lots of information on the glaciers history. It also has several walks with different lengths and scenery. I recommend a stop even of just for the short 3 km walk.

We found no caves here but it was our first close grasp of a Icelandic glacier in summer - thrilling but not beautiful. The waterfall nearby is not worth seeing but I recommend you take a blue path to it and than, from a view point, turn right to a red path to the glacier. It is not too difficult but worth your efforts. The path back is exciting: you will go through a tundra jungles!
