Beautiful campsite, we camp there as we did glacier walk next days morning and just leave our stuffs in the campsite! Walk to the tourist centre in 5 mins. you have to buy a bath coupon for hot shower, kr500 - almost US$5 for just 5 mins hot water. Ensure you prepare all the stuff / shampoo before you scan the coupon.

1400/pp + 300 for each tent and car per night. 500 extra to shower. There's no kitchen or food shop, and the cafeteria has a limited selection and limited hours (plus, you're not allowed to sit inside with your own food). If you're camping in a tent, there's nowhere to get any reprieve from the weather. The campgrounds are fine, but I had a negative experience because the gear I rented back in Reykjavik flooded; it would have been nice if there was somewhere to sit out the rain.

Only one shower was functional. The bathrooms have hot water, but the locks don't work well--kept having people open the door on me despite locking it.

The campgrounds are separated into three areas--one for RVs, and two for tents. There's like one picnic bench for each section, which is a little ridiculous. Nice views of the mountains, but the buildings from the main visitor center area get in the way of photos.

Great place and very big campsite. Has a shop but it doesn't sell much food. You'd think a campsite would have a shop for basics. Needs a shop!

The half of the facilities is closed, and here is no kitchen. The showers have only cold water. The ground is very hard so you cant stick the Mails into the eath. The reception is very unfriendly, and it cost more then the pricelist says (1700kr per Person and one tent witout a car or Something else). The only good think is the View of the vatnajökull.

The placement of the camping is beautifull! But the toilets and showers are in desperate need of some TLC (the building where there in is not heated) plus there’s no indoor space or -kitchen. It’s overpriced for the facilities they offer. You have to pay extra for the shower wich I didn’t end up using because they weren’t clean.

A big campsite open all year round. For two people overnight in a campervan is 3800ISK which is more expensive than some smaller sites but the scenery is worth it. Price doesn't include showers but there is a large clean toilet block, laundry room and facilities for disabled visitors. In winter the camping reception is in the visitor centre and you can choose to leave your campervan in the main car park nearer the facilities or go round to the campsite at the side. There are more toilet blocks further from the visitor centre but they are closed in the winter. Reception is open until 23:00 and you need to input your vehicle registration for parking. Recommend the hour hike to Svartifoss waterfall and back before you leave.

Pretty decent, large campsite with an amazing view of some mountains and glacier. About 30 min walk from the Skaftafell waterfall which was one of the most amazing things I've seen in Iceland. One star down for pricing and paid showers.

Great campsite, open year-round. We had it almost totally to ourselves in late November. Bathrooms were clean and in good shape. The entrance is not where Google maps takes you, drive past the turnout for the visitors center (where Maps sends you), then take the next right.

Beautiful location! Was open at the end of October, numerous sites, toilets, showers (which get you 5 minutes of hot water, and even though I was skeptical, it was enough time), washing area. We loved our stay there!

Superb place! I see some reviews about this place saying it’s expensive and that are not enough toilets.. 1470kr (12$) per person for camping site is not much. There 3 houses with toilets with many toilets in them and there free! I guess most of these people have not camped in the middle of nowhere where resources are limited. They have a great cafeteria and a information center. Then also I see people complaining to pay for a map that cost 350kr (1,50$). Sorry but if you are going to complain about a map that cost 1,50$ then please don’t come to Iceland in the first place.

Pretty good campsite and good location. Shower and toilets are clean, you do have to pay for 5 minutes shower time which I really don't like! There is no way I can wash my hair and shave in that time! I suppose I could be less stingy and buy another 5 minutes but I am Scottish!

Beautiful location but pretty busy campsite (very dirty toilets and showers) they charge you for every single thing ( even maps which are free in most of the places) and there is no opportunity to charge your devices during the night time. Moreover, there are rats around and sneaking into tents to steal food!

Cleanliness and facilities are about what I'd expect. Not as muddy as other facilities on the island. Decent place to stay if you're in the area and would like to hike to Svartifoss in the morning.

The campsite itself was spacious and sheltered with stunning views. It is a lovely location and seems well run but there are not enough showers and toilets and washing up areas at the busy times (mid Aug). This is a relatively expensive campsite so I think the Nat Park needs to invest in better facilities and more staff to keep on top of the cleaning as there are plenty of people keen to stay here.

Amazing view. Not too expensive. Luckily also large enough area to not feel too crowded. Only minor downside was the missing soap in the men's room for two consecutive days and the fact that warm water was only available in the other toilet-house, not the one we were closer to.

Kostenloser(!) Stellplatz (zumindest im März), mit 24/7-Toiletten, Duschen (5 min, 500 ISK) sind vorhanden. Viele Camper haben im warmen, geräumigen Toilettenhaus auf Isomatten geschlafen. Viele Stellplätze vorhanden, Lage ideal am Eingang des Nationalparks und dem Gletscher Skaftafellsjökull. Informationscenter hat tagsüber geöffnet

Very big camping place with a restaurant (very expensive; mostly fried food). We slept there in September and it was very cold in the night. If u plan to camp here in fall, winter or spring be ready and bring good equipment. You can see small portions of the glacier

Big campesite next to glacier, with glacier guides just by the site. Not enough facilieties for that size of camp, you have to queue to take the shower (witch you have to pay for). But with all disadventages it's still very good place to stay if you want to hike at the base of giant glacier :)
