Reall nice budget hotel out of town. Well priced with free breakfast which means a lot in Iceland!!! Evening meals are very reasonable..

If you treat it for what it is, a bed in a room it's not too bad, but the overall experience isn't great. A room underground with no lock, no storage space and a shortage of utensils in the kitchen makes for a worrying day if you hope to leave anything for the day. On a positive note it's not too far from perlan or kringlan.

One of the affordable hostel but not so comfortable to live in. Loads of people and prisons like cells to sleep in. Would recommend to those who travel on budget like me but if you’re a comfort person than this place is not for you!

I stayed one night here and it was fine. The room was very hot even though we opened the window. We just couldn't find a way to turn down the heat on the radiator (possibly user error). The breakfast wasn't very good so I just ate some yogurt I bought at a store, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try it.

First thing to say about the Capital Inn is that in my book it is not a true hotel, more of a hostel with a couple of en suite rooms. That's ok, but the room I booked was described as a deluxe and was anything but. I guess deluxe in Iceland means en suite. Much of the accommodation on the island is geared towards travellers who just need a place to crash so if you need a few creature comforts choose something closer to the city centre. Plus points were that the ho(s)tel was clean and the staff were pleasant. It was cheap but accessible to town. Decent bus service nearby. Downside is that the room I had was riddled with black mould, the bathroom/shower was pretty "bedsit" and the furniture was ancient. No food available on Sunday after breakfast. WiFi was free but iffy. I would say that the accommodation falls into the category "served a purpose" and to be honest it was really busy. If you don't mind roughing it a bit then it's ok. If I return to Iceland I'll probably try and get something in the city.

This place is interesting, I will say the staff is friendly and the breakfast was not bad. I found it fascinating that the hot water was volcanic but that did mean a little sulfur smell, I didn't mind it but I could see some people not being a fan. The room I got was on the third floor and of course there is no elevator so I had to lug large suitcases up the stairs. Then it took me a while to find my room itself as it was hidden behind another door not with all the other rooms on that floor. The room was small but had a loft with the second bed for my friends. Additionally it is a short walk to the Perlan Museum which also has a free shuttle bus into town so while it is a bit away from town it is still easy and free to get there. While at first glance the hotel may look a bit dirty and rundown it was overall a very positive experience.

In my opinion not enough electrical plugs and eny boxes or shelf next to bed. But great living room and really good kitchen! Unlimited hot water and fats wi fi!

We stayed at Capital inn for a short winter break. The whole place was warm & clean. We had b&b, breakfast was good with a wide, unlimited choice. There was also a communal guest kitchen which we used for preparing other meals. This was clean with an ample supply of utensils, plates, mugs, cutlery etc.
Iceland is very expensive, but we considered the price we paid for our stay to be good value.

Capital inn is situated in the center of the city. It is easy to locate and reach with public transport, which is well planned and available in Reykjavik. The cheat and restaurant attendant Asaad is very good, friendly and jolly (say welcoming and hospitable). You only need to change your routine break fast. Thank u

Spent night in shared dormitory, price is very good compared to other hotels, it could use more plugs in the bedrooms, but there are plenty in the kitchen/living room. Also there is only 2 bathrooms for whole shared dormitory, (3 stalls for women) which in the morning can get pretty busy. Far from center, there is one bus (n.°18) situated like 5 minutes from hotel, which takes you to the center.
It says on their page that they rent bikes for their guests, but they DO NOT rent bikes at all!!!
Receptionist were nice and kind.
Overall pretty good for the price.

A place for travellers mostly. Has private rooms as well as dorms/shared mixed rooms. Breakfast at extra cost. Also has a common kitchen, in case one wants to cook on their own. Only two bathrooms and toilets for the entire shared occupants area, which could get busy easily. Not the best place, but is budget friendly in Iceland

We had an apartment for 3 people. It was very clean and comfortable. The location was great as we were able to get onto the road and into the city quickly. The staff was friendly and helpful. Even though our room faced the road, it was still very quiet inside the room.

Great place to stay if you want a clean accommodation within 10min from domestic airport and offers breakfast. 20min walk to town, pickup available for flybus connection to international airport. Nice and clean.

No bedside lights, no en suites, no bedside tables, one receptionist very good, one later on much less so. But conveniently located for road network and provided a packed breakfast for our 430am departure. Beds clean and comfortable.

Very good place! The staff were very friendly. The 3 people who run the front counter are patient and forthcoming. The cleaning staff are punctual and fast. The rooms were great. The only issue was the roommates. Usually the same issues you'd have with any roommate (leaves toothbrush on counter or would keep the bathroom door closed after a really hot shower). The room my SO and I stayed in was 3 bedrooms, a shared kitchen and bathroom. All in all a great placeIF YOU HAVE A RENTAL CAR TOO as it's a long 45 to and hour walk to the main core of the Capital.

It's ok. 4 people in one room, mixed dorm rooms. Breakfast is $5usd. No towels, those cost $ too. The kitchen is not very clean and the bathroom is not super clean either, kind of old and beat down. Front desk staff was nice. There's a parking lot to park your car.

I've not had a more simple check in ever. Only 4 stars because the restrooms are also the shower rooms. Not fun when you first wake up in the morning. Otherwise awesome stay!

Stayed here because it was booked for us in an Iceland tour package. There was confusion about our reservation which caused us issue.
The minimal shared bathroom facilities for the number of rooms on each floor was an inconvenience.
There was no way to get fresh air into the room besides opening the window and as we were there in July, it made sleeping difficult because it was so bright.
The hallway on our floor smelled like vomit for the two nights we were there.
It is in a location that is relatively convenient to the city center but I can't say that I would want to stay there again

Cheap but under minimum standard acceptable.
Dirty rooms, broken accessories; we asked to move to another room and it was even worse.
Bad breakfast offerings.
Shared cooking area dirty and unusable.
