Visited at 10.30 ish today. No queue, lots of empty tables but for some reason a member of staff asked us to walk behind people having their food and stand waiting. A few minutes later we were brought to a table. This unnecessary queue continued the whole time we were there - there was always empty tables..and there seemed to be no member of staff attending the queue,it was very distracting. Things improved once we were seated. A lovely staff member called Lindsay took our order. I felt slice of very fancy carrot cake was overpriced at €6 and latte was a little cold. Decor is fantastic - but absolute shame open fires were not lit - like they used to be.

Just left the cafe and for now will not be coming back. Coffee was cold, apple pie uncooked and the lacks of training on the staff is appalling. It took 10min waiting to get menus and another 10min (upon asking twice) for our order to be taken. Our order was delivered to the table next to ours, and we had to tell the waiter that it was ours (a guess by what they were serving + the confused faces of the other guests). Bottomless water wasn’t refilled until we had to ask for it twice (despite having a waiter coming to our table when the bottle was already empty). Bill was brought to the table before we were even asked if we needed anything else. 20min later, nobody comes to collect the payment and so I asked someone who looked like a manager (a lady called Ana) to bring the card machine. She clearly didn’t know how to operate a POS: first added the bill amount as a tip, all by herself, doubling the total of the bill. Then she cancels it, gives the machine to me and tells me to type my pin without even having taken my card up from the bill tray. Then she tried conctactless and it gets declined because the signal was too bad where we were located. So she just kept rudely repeating “it’s declined”, without even allowing me to try again with the pin - perhaps now this time with the card inserted in the machine (as she still hasn’t realised that the card wasn’t in). She then decides to ask for help and I said that it was okay, I’d pay with cash instead. As I put part of the money on the bill tray, she takes whatever was on it and walks away. When I call her back and say that it wasn’t the full amount, she rudely leaves the bill tray on the table and walks away. When she comes back, I tried to give her this exact same feedback, and to wrap up her rudeness, she walks away leaving me talking on my own. I called her back before leaving and by her face, she clearly didn’t care about what we were saying to her. An unfortunate terrible experience as we were looking forward to going back there. Staff doesn’t seem to know what they are supposed to do and where they are supposed to be, we saw 3 tables leaving because their orders simply weren’t taken. It looks like they rushed to re-open (which is great) but didn’t allow enough time to hire the right people and moreover to train them properly. For now, I’ll spend my money elsewhere.

Iconic cafe recently reopened after refurbishment. Lots of people want to experience the new restaurant so the queues are quite long.

Coffee is great and staff are very pleasant.

I was delighted to hear bewleys opening again and the interior reflects my memories. However the food was poor. The "sandwiches" are in fact rolls. These rolls are very hard and too crusty to manage. The eclair were too small and service poor

I was very excited to return to one of the most iconic cafes in Ireland. The results from the renovation within the building is fabulous indeed, although pretty smaller. I gave 3 stars only as I found no Irish breakfast on the menu, the food selection available on the menu is very limited and the prices pretty high also. In any case, it’s just been reopened and I hope this positive criticism can bring the. Bewley’s Cafe we had in the past entirely back.

There is nowhere more iconic in Dublin than this Grafton Street location for meeting friends and having a chat over coffee.

The city's most famous café is famous amongst country folk who come 'up to Dublin' for the day and where better to begin a day's adventure than underneath the stained glass artwork of Harry Clarke.

Breakfasts are good but a little on the small side, but this is a place to have tea or coffee and sit upstairs overlooking the busy pedestrian thoroughfare that is Grafton Street.

Unfortunately Bewley's is due to close for approximately six months from the end of February for renovation works that will see the upstairs floors turned to other uses.

This is a bit of a special place in Dublin - it's been on Grafton St for years and has no doubt hosted many afternoons of gossip and stories over over a nice cup of tea and a slice of carrot cake. Just the one mind! Ah sure, go on, I'll have a second

This is the ideal spot for people watching if you're lucky enough to get a seat upstairs by the window.

What's really special is the Bewley's Cafe Theatre where you can head in on your lunch break to catch a show.

Best thing about this place is the wonderful overhead heaters once you come through the door. On a cold day (and lets face it Dublin always is) this will warm your cockles up in less than 2 jiffies unless you cause a stampede by blocking up the door. The staff are friendly enough that you cannot really get barred from Bewley's unless you do something seriously bad. Inside the door, at the take away counter you can purchase for the most reasonable price ever a cup of the finest hot chocolate with marshmallows and a love heart on the top of it. The food inside is not that bad either.
