This hotel is a pleasant place to stay. The location is perfect. A bit noisy at night but that is to be expected smack in the centre. Clean etc.

Small and intimate hotel. Rooms are clean but nothing extraordinary. Be aware that on the weekends the bar downstairs has live music that's can be heard from the rooms.

The only good thing about it was the location which was fantastic. For the price you pay you don't get much in return. The noise at night is unbearable as the tram line passes in front of the hotel. We tried closing the window but it got too warm in the room. We asked 3 times to get bed sheets so that we don't need to cover up in quilts (the only bedding provided) , they kept telling us no problem but still got no sheets. It didn't feel like any hotel I've been to. The cold water tap in the bath couldn't open as it is fixed too close to the wall which doesn't allow for it to turn, I've never seen anything like it.

I can definitly recommend this hotel.
Nice little Hotel for a fair price (in march).
Really friendly workers there and a beautiful little Bar with some Snacks and live music. The location of the hotel is just awesome. You can reach nearly everything interesting in a few minutes footwalk ( Ha, Penny bridge / Temple bar / Trinity College / Dublin Castle / The spire and a lot of bus stations in the O´Connell street including the express busses to the airport.
We stayed on the second floor and it was not absolutely quiet at night but not as loud as some people write here, at least in my opinion. The average city noices which you hear everywhere and on the weekend you hear some music from the nearby Academy but well normaly you wont be in your rooms anyway at that time when you visit Dublin right ? ;)
If you are visiting Dublin for a cultural Trip and Sightseeing with skipping the nightlife you should get a hotel further away from the City centre and the temple bar ditsrict anyway. But if you love the nightlife (which is awesome in Dublin) you make everything right with the abbey hotel.response / report this review -

Me and 2 other friends shared a room at this hotel for a few days while visiting Dublin. First of all, the location was simply perfect. Places like Temple bar, Trinity College, the shopping area, and so on were all within walking distance. The room itself had all the basic things we needed, nothing more, nothing less. Staff was friendly and we had a good stay. Perfect base camp for visiting Dublin.
