Good hotel to stay for sightseeing Jakarta. A bit old but clean and cozy. For breakfast buffet (optional), you can choose from variey cuisine and I was surprised they served Sushi and udon noodle as well(I haven’t tried though). Also good access to blok M and central Jakarta.

Its position next to the shooping mall about 50 meter and about 50 meter to Blok M Bus station , you can easy to reach main bussiness office area or main jakarta foot ball stadium on sudirman road as they are still in the same line. BLOK m station is center local bus station in Jakarta, if you are getting lost then back to blok M station and anywhere of jakarta part is connecting with this station. For interior, this hotel room is still good but now consider as oldiest. I hope hotel prepare to renovated.
Room was in cigarrette smell then I ask to move to other room due smoke smell was annoying. The toilet often being wet due flooding as got the problem on drainage system. Better owner to change to portable cubical bathroom. Have roof top pool, the pool is children friendly due the deep is only 1,2 meter i hope they can make it 1,5 meter to accomodate the oldiest. Have the washing room nest to the pool but its a bit dirty especially in the toilet of gym area.response / report this review -

Old hotel but clean. Have a good ballroom for event with professional banquet staff. The food is not as good as I expected. When we have event, they serve fried rice, chicken, squid, vegetables, rujak buah (the only tasty food I've tried).

Even though the hotel is quite old, it still keep its antique yet luxurious-vintage ambiance. The service is very very good, all staff were so I organized an international event here and all participants and committee were satisfied. The foods, it's various and tasty. I'm dying of its soto lamongan, guys you should try it!

The services are quite disappointed. The wifi in the bedroom was not working at all, the room is not so clean, and the most important is the unfriendly staffs. The good thing that i would like to highlighted is the location is easy to found and very close to the Blok M, shopping center and bus terminal. Beside that, i also love the foods, it is really suitable to my tastes

Good hotel but the atmosphere its little bit too old and spooky for young couple like me The room has all that vintage feeling from the old tv (some room still using tube tv with cable channel) and vintage bathroom. But the breakfast is one of the best I have ever had.

Low ceiling, unclear info of events (how can we know the name of the person who book the room?? I don't understand why they don't just display the name of the event), leaky sound system. Buffet food is good, but better to ask to eat at the restaurant. Location is very accessible even though their parking facility is not the best.

Second time I was here. Parking spot was limited. The ballroom is ok. Location is also easy to find. When you didn't find the parking spot, you can park outside nearby the hotel and pay un-official parking warden. :)

Don't use slippery or thong when you enter the resto for breakfast. It is not allowed.
The server will ask you to move while you prepare your own breakfast, because he wanted to put plates on the place that I was standing. He should wait until the customer move by his/her own.
The server never ask whether you need something in your table or not. I have to find by my self everything I needed for my breakfast.
The room it was OK for me.

Impressive façade, quiet, spacious lobby, strategic location.
Although an old hotel, the room is good and everything is functioning well. From an online hotel booking, Ambhara offers a price that is lower than many budget hotel, which is value for money. The room is spacious, comfortable and quiet. The toilet is clean and everything works properly. The Aircon is centralized, which sometimes becomes too cold. Wifi works well both in the lobby and in the room. The hotel has a large resto for its buffet and breakfast, a bar, and a café that looks shiny from the street, but most of the time quiet. The lobby is long, enough sofas and lounges for everyone. Check in and check out is done quickly, no hassles.
Forget the patisserie.
Ambhara is located in south Jakarta, across a busy commercial area comprises of shophouses and a huge trade mall, Blok M Square. Many Japanese resto, bar, pub and karaoke in the area. Blok M Square has Javanese style "angkringan" food center for local people, dining in "lesehan" style, which is sitting on a mat or low benches.
A popular Filosofi Kopi coffee shop is inside the area.
Near the hotel is Pasar Santa vintage market, Pasar Mayestik handcraft and textile market, Pasaraya shopping mall, Blok M Plaza, and high-end mall Gandaria City Mall.
Senopati street and Gunawarman street are high end resto and beauty clinics, connected to Pacific Place Mall and the Indonesia Stock Exchange twin towers.response / report this review -

This hotel has a nice location (next to some great malls for shopping) and has kind and curteous staff. It is also very clean from what I could see. I enjoyed the restaurant food for both breakfast and dinner. My only observation is that the room interiors, while clean, were a bit dated. All in all, a comfortable place to stay in the Indonesian capital.
