Easy to get to. Easy to talk with very accomodating staff. Wonderful.stay
The rooms are clean and lovely (had two single beds). I recommend the one overlooking the Danube as ours did - we also had a balcony which was delightful both in the mornings and evenings. Bring your own toiletries though, bathroom had a plastic shower cap and two small bottles of shampoo/hand gel. Inside the shower was one of the typical combo shower wash/shampoo dispensers. The restaurant in the hotel was reasonably priced with a breakfast discount if ordered in advance (not sure if this is standard or part of our convention pricing.) There is a very diverse buffet with options changed for the different meals served (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and I enjoyed most of the offerings.
Good service, good rooms, very good beds. Good breakfast. The gym and spa are very good. A good place for relax.
Nice and big rooms. AC a bit old and doesn't get very cold even when on during a whole day.
It is very clean and quite.
The food is very good and they serve a healthy food. The lobby is simple and charming.
Most convenient place to stay in Budapest! Not the best but absolutely better than many!
Nice view of the river. Small toilets. Small rooms.
I had a very bad experience with their services. Even thought I was not a guest there, I interacted with them by telephone and email, trying to make a surprise to some friends of mine who was guests at Helia Hotel. I called to reservations department and very polite asking if it is possible to help me make a surprise to our Godfathers meaning to buy to pieces of cake and deliver it to their room few minutes after they check in, from our side. They told me that without problem they ll resolve that, they asked me to complete and send over email my credit card details in an authorization form to pay for the cakes, I done that, they told me that they forwarded the email to reception and that they will take care of it. From now on, nothing happened. My friends didn't received any cakes, I called in the reception asking about it 5 times I think No one knew about what I was talking. The guy from the reception was pretty rude, telling me that "look madam this is not hour to call (it was 10 pm when I called the last time, because I wanted to know what happened), he told me also that is too late to attend this kind of issues, to call in the morning because he cannot access the emails and that he didn't now nothing about my cakes and that there are people standing in the reception in front of him he must take care of and he disconnected the call". Very vertical rude, he was yelling at me. But I ve been persevering and called again the next day. Same treatment, nobody knew nothing I was told the the girl from reservation I changed emails with, Renata, wasn't there And that they ll TRY to find the conversation and solve the problem.. My friends left the hotel, no surprise was done. But a very disappointing experience remainsI believe what I requested was a very small thing, that could be done very easily with a bit of willing.
Nice staff. Excelent view of the Danube.
An excellent conference venue, view of the danube.
Very nice rooms with good wiew over the river
Doesn't deserve 4*, last time when i will visit this hotel. Expensive for the poor services, and the employees have an dry attitude, maybe need an refreshment. Usually this kind of rooms are around 35-40 euro anywhere in Eastern Europe. The bedrooms are very small and have probably 30 years old.
I stayed at the Danubius for a week in July. It is a lovely hotel but on the first morning my necklace was taken from my jewellery box. It wasn't investigated properly and I was made to feel like an inconvenience to the reception staff. I came up to my room finding the housekeeping staff rummaging through our staff 'trying to find it'!!! Even though i did not authorise this and was not in the room whilst they were doing so.
Since returning I have written to management and have received a very disappointing response - apparantly they reacted accordingly but because we did not request police investigation they cannot take action and will not take any responsibility for my stolen necklace. At the time, we told the reception staff we would allow them to deal with it in house to avoid a criminal charge to someone who may have just taken an opportunistic moment and we didn't want to ruin our holiday with police (it was my birthday that day). The staff member should have corrected us at this time and told us he would not be able to investigate without police involvement (to which we would then have agreed). Instead he kept saying it may be at home EVEN THOUGH I KNEW IT WASN'T. Or that maybe I lost it in the room - EVEN THOUGH I KEPT SAYING I HADN'T REMOVED IT FROM THE BOX. To me, they have allowed theft to happen from their staff in their hotel.
This was an incredibly sentimental piece of jewellery and have not received an ounce of concern or responsibility.
Had this have been dealt with appropriately I would have my necklace (I literally reported it the very same morning).
I am so disappointed, heart broken and my trust in this establishment is broken.
I am well travelled and can confidently say (although never in this position before) had i reported stolen jewellery in a different hotel, the response would be much more helpful and effective.
