Bit TOO busy, decent Internet, comfortable bed, good shower. Breakfast is okay. Good what they have but not many options. Location is good, but not great

The location is ok. The restaurant is good as it s the breakfast and the common areas. On the other hand the rooms are quite outdated and they definitely need to be refreshed. The hotel is also over-heated and it's impossible to regulate the temperature in the rooms. All in all I would motel really recommend it.

Just a short stroll (about 1km) to Budapest. Rooms vary in size but the beds are comfortable, the bar is well-priced and the breakfast and Dinner is reasonable quality.

Mercure reception is according to a 4 star hotel, however, the rooms are not quite so.
I have always said that a quality of a hotel is measured by how good the room-bathrooms are and if you stop for a second and think about it, it's the most transited place while at your stay and it has the tendency to show the most signs of use if not well taken care of.
Even though the rooms seem at first sight well, if you look again closer might get a surprise.
I stayed at the Junior Suite in the 5th floor and this floor seemed quite.. in urgent need of renovation. Same goes for the room itself. Especially the bathroom (as shown in the photos).
Another special "feature" was the additional bed provided in the Junior Suite. It felt really uncomfortable as the springs would stuck to your back, which made the "4 star" experience not quite so.
Nevertheless, the personnel was always very helpful and kind. No objection there, but would be very nice to have stayed at the renovated floor/rooms as the other reviewers comment here.response / report this review -

The hotel is quite decent. The staff is nice and helpful. The breakfast is normal. They had also a Chinese buffet for breakfast which is quite nice since they seemed to have a lot of Asian guests. The room seemed a bit oldish but it was alright overall. The view towards the hill is really nice and so are the sunsets and sunrises from there, especially if your room is at an upper floor.

Excellent place to stay.
We came one day early and front desk personal gave to room. The breakfast is assuming. You name it every thing is there.
It is better to make room with breakfast.
Close by good restaurants and transportation. The hotel has free parking space as well as out side street parking.response / report this review -

Nice sized rooms. Everything you need. Shower really good and complimentary tea, coffee, water and kettle provided, as well as paid minibar. Good view of city from 8th floor. Very good breakfast selection.

The second Mercure I tried in Budapest, situated on the Buda side of the river, close to the Deli train station. My room had a great vista, the lobby is spacious and staff helpful. I forgot my phone charger there, they took care I got it back.

Friendly staff. Not central but with easy access to public transport. Satisfactory breakfast. Didn't like at all the rooms. Were too filthy and giving a feeling of dirty. I found it offensive to have the rooms in such a situation and not doing renovation. I was in a group and I couldn't choose hotel on my own. If I could I certainly wouldn't choose it.

Rather expensive place. I always have the feeling of "take the advantages of foreigners" when I am there. I never visit this place because of it, only when it gets into my way. When I am in the neighborhood and I want to drink a good coffee. Yes, the coffee is good. :) Of course for almost EUR 3. It is better to visit only when you have some occasion eg. a workshop.
