We simply love this place. It's like our second home. Staff is like family!
Honestly, this is the worst all-inclusive I’ve ever stayed at. We had 2 rooms in the “VIP” section of the resort. We arrived in Punta Cana airport at 5am. I had spoken to hotel staff several days prior to book a shuttle to pick us up. It never showed up. They eventually sent a taxi. I told them there were 7 of us. They sent a small minivan that seated 6. I rode to the hotel on my 17 year old sons lap, with 2 pieces of luggage on my lap. When we arrived at the hotel, the air conditioning was not working. We were told it would be fixed that day. 5 days later, the A/C in my sons’ room still didn’t work. The phone in our room was not functioning, and took 3 days to fix.
The rooms were very run-down and out of date. Our bathroom had clearly had a recent leak, and the patch job on the ceiling was horrible. We had 4 people in our room, and were never given more than 3 towels a day, no matter how often we asked for more.
The food was very good, but service in any of the restaurants was veeerrryyyyy slow. The buffet was good though.
The service staff was very nice, but the main lobby staff & management was terrible.
I at one point inquired about having laundry done, and was told that if I had it washed by the hotel, it would be returned the next day. That didn't happen. When I asked where my laundry was, I was told it wouldn’t be ready until the next day. When I said I wasn’t satisfied with that answer, I got shrugged shoulders.
The resort gym was horrible. Rusty equipment, no air conditioning, filthy, mangled carpeting.
For all the issues we had, we never got a single apology, or anyone trying to make it right. I was told I “had to understand”. I’m not an unreasonable person, but, as a paying guest, I don’t have to “understand”. If the air conditioning is broken in the building I am in, I should be offered a room in another building. If I ask for extra towels, I should get them.
The beach had a ton of seaweed wash up on to it every single day, and they only cleaned it up about every 3rd day.
Clearly, I was sorely disappointed in this resort. I do not recommend it, and I will never go back: and
Always a magical time. The staff is wonderful. The food is delicious and menu options change daily. Pasquel you are amazing ♡ Multiple choices of restaraunts to eat at as well. On site medic, childcare, duty free shop, mini market, adventure planning/scheduling, taxi service. Several bars and coffee 'shops' Ohhhhh and Pedro's chocolate mousse is just the best thing ever ♡
Go to Cayena Beach Club next door if you want to enjoy yourself. Arena Blanca is a madhouse. Don't waste your time.
To start off with the beach is beautiful & food is good. Most of the staff is friendly. Now for my review
1. Alcohol is bottom shelf liquor and don't ask for a mojito because you will get green snowball syrup and no mint or lime. The slushee machine is used to mix most cocktails and the slushy is mostly just cold and not frozen. Oh the cups are only 8 oz too, brink your own cup.
2. Your "garden view room" is a street view of all traffic pulling up to hotel.
3. Don't expect a comforter on the bed or more then 2 pillows for king size bed. You get 2 sheets with a decorative liner at bottom of bed.
4. The "recent renovations" include a version of what is supposed to be distressed wood that isn't even sanded and looks like a 5 year old painted it white on unsanded wood.
5. Asked for an iron to press my clothes and it was not delivered after 3 calls to front desk. They then said on third call to come get it myself. I was in my pj's waiting to iron my clothes. Customer service at front desk sucks! Very rude!
6. Don't expect to get a fresh towel for the next day because they are doing an inventory of their $2.00 beach towel that you have to sign and date 2x to turn it in. Must be like gold here along with the clothes iron. The towel station is located by the excursion people and you are asked every single time to book an excursion. They are conveniently located next to towel hut.
7. Everywhere you go on the resort they allow people here to sell items and you are harassed to buy things inside the resort grounds. Then the folks get mad when you say you are not interested.
8. Wifi only works intermittently in the lobby. Horrible.
This resort is great if you are 21 and going on spring break with your friends. I'd rather pay a few hundred more and have the basic amenities like a clothes iron and regular size cup, not a toddler size cup.
Spend an extra 350 dollars and go to a better resort . Vik @ cayena beach is a dump ! No internet, bottom shelf booze , 27 inch flat screen on bedroom wall , two sheets and two pillows on your bed minus a comforter. 8 oz drinking cups for everything you drink. Don't even ask for a mojito! All you get is a green melted down hush puppy type drink . You have to turn in your beach towel for inventory and don't you dare ask for an iron to iron your clothes before dinner. Beach is nice . Food is good and that's about it folks!
Poor installations, very basic food, the show after dinner was more of the same, which was not available during weekdays. On the other hand, the beach is pretty and the staff does their job.
I was there in March first time, poor comunication by staff, food not bad, facility old.
I am a beach club member and if i new it was this way i would have not purchased this facility.
Needs a lot of work
Un desastre todo, salvo el restaurante para miembros al medio día y la playa.
Buen nivel y muy buen trato de su gente
Older but cozy resort
Mériterai une 5ème étoile si le personnel ne tirait pas une tronche de déterrés
Accueil quelque peu glacial
Le reste est parfait
