This was truly the best vacation ever ! The hotel was beautiful, the people were wonderful and the beach was steps away from our room. I didn't want to leave !!! Looking forward on going back soon !!

We did not have a good experience here! We got an all-inclusive package through Living Social and paid $350 for 6 nights so I suppose we got what we paid for! If we had not had the all inclusive deal I would have been infuriated.
To start off, the place was really run down. The grounds were okay, but the rooms were dated, paint was chipping, stains were all over the place, and the bed was horribly uncomfortable. Every shower was a cold one. The beach chairs were mostly broken and falling apart. You could hardly read the maps because they were so faded.
The food was okay, though nothing excellent. If we wouldn't have had the all inclusive (I don't think the resort usually offers that option) we would have spent over $1200 on food and drinks. We did NOT go overboard at all, that is lunch and dinner and a few cocktails throughout the day.
The day we paid $50 to rent a golf cart was the best day we had there because that was the only way you could get to anything the hotel had to offer. Everything was spread so far out that it was quite a hike to get to anything not right by your room.
The things they had to do there were all run down or non-operational. The "petting zoo" was just sad!
To get anywhere off the resort was an expensive journey. The resort was very isolated from anything else. There are absolutely no activities after dinner time. The bars all close at 10:30- so your only option at that point is to go to bed.
There were a few good things. The drinks were GREAT. They were tasty and they didn't skimp on the alcohol. Since there were not many people there, there was always plenty of room at the pool or the beach most days we were the only ones there! The ecological reserve was very cool. We swam in the freshwater lagoons which we also had to ourselves.
There was really not much to do and it was really hard to get anywhere else to do anything elsewhere. It was good if you want to lay on the beach or at the pool by yourself and do NOTHING else the whole time and if you don't care about a hard bed and cold showers.
Oh and don't try and get smaller bills to tip with, its impossible. We tried getting $1 USD or smaller denomination of the Dominican currency, but they were unable to get us that. They never had change for larger bills so we either had to tip with $5, $10, or $20 or nothing at all. I can't believe they wouldn't make it easier for us to give them money!!

worst airport ever. first they take in my parents- probably because of our race because everyone else was white and we were only asian, right when we were about to load the airplane they make them have a full body scan and checked suitcases& didn't tell us why just made a mess of everything when we had nothing supsicious? and they found nothing (surprisingly-.-) and then they had taken our boarding pass and when they finally said we could leave, they asked us for the boarding pass they had given back to us(which they hadn't) and they were arguing that they did fora bout 10 minutes and finally the woman admitted to having lost it and didn't even apologize. and NO ONE can really speak/ understand english. horrible experience and at the end they told us ot come again. no way.
