Dirty, and poor service. Platinum member didn't offer an upgrade. The room is dirty and not well maintained. TV remote is low battery, have to press buttons by the side. The chair is freaking disgusting. Moody welcome by receptionist. Plenty of options down the street. Go somewhere else.

Hotel room was nice and had been recently renovated. Hotel currently still undergoing construction which we were told about on check in and advised that work starts at 8.30am. Didn't find it too noisy and weren't awoken by the noise. Only given 3 stars as hotel severely lacks in amenities. No hotel bar, restaurant or room service which meant you had to leave the hotel to do anything which usually isn't a problem but on one day when it was snowing all day it was a pain to have to go out to eat/drink.

Not worth the money
When I booked this hotel, I did so because it is very close to the office of my client and also because I got a good rate due to my membership card.
I didn't bother to read the latest reviews, and it turned out that, that was a mistake.
So, here is my experience.
The hotel is located very close to the main station, right on the main street in front of the station. Also it's very close to the "red light street" which is just two corners away from the hotel. This can be both good or bad :)
At the reception the ladies were quite unfriendly and cold. Both at check-in and at check-out.
It was ok, but not very professional or as nice as other lower class hotels.
I immediately noticed that the hotel is in an old building, which partially is still under reconstruction / renovation. This wasn't mentioned anywhere on the website, and in the elevator there is a sign saying that the reconstruction will be finished by Sep 2017 (2 months earlier).
Initially all was good, but during my last morning, I noticed quite a lot of noise starting at 8:30 AM. So you shouldn't plan to sleep any late than 8.
When I first entered the room, I actually quite liked it. It wasn't the best hotel room that I saw, but it was quite big and it had all the equipment you could think of, including a beer bottle opener or a small ironing table set. That's something you don't usually see in a hotel, so I thought it's very good.
The bathroom is also modern and nice. The only issue is that the sink is too large and it's too close to the toilet. So you can't sit comfortable. I'm really wondering how would a bigger person use the toilet
So, my first thought was to give it a rating of 4 out of 5, with the only issues being the scratched wall and the unfriendly staff.
However this rapidly changed when I saw the really dirty chair at my desk (see attached picture).
In a 4 star hotel you can't possibly expect to find such a dirty chair. Totally disgusting.
The other major problem was probably related to the construction site, because in my last morning I didn't have running hot water. So I had to take a cold shower in the morning because of this. Maybe this wasn't the hotel's fault, but still it's not acceptable.
So, I conclusion I recommend that you stay away from this hotel, at least until the finish the reconstruction work.response / report this review -

Good hotel for a short stay. Very close to the main train station. They also keep your luggage for free. Rooms are very clean. They only give one bottle of sparkling water for free. You will need to buy the still water which is around 2.20eu per bottle. No kettle in the room.

Attentive and friendly staff, quick to respond to issues. Good rooms. They are working on a large renovation which may cause some disturbance (9:30 am in our case). We received early check-in and could store our bags for a few hours when we left. The neighbourhood is great during the day, but a little sketchy at night although we did not feel unsafe at any time. Location is excellent for tourists. For breakfast i recommend the bio-bäckerei across the street.

Nice location, friendly staffs, room was just ok. However due to the hotel is under construction, we could heard their job loud and clear in the room. The noise start every morning around 0800 and it forced to wake us up. Hotel staff offered free breakfast for our noise complain and the meal was pretty nice. Oh and last night we found a random dress behind of the couch.

This is a nice hotel.
The building is old and the hotel has been renovated. Don't expect anything fancy - this is a very basic, clean hotel. Room is medium size and has all amenities you would expect. I enjoyed my stay.
Breakfast is plentiful, great croissants.
One note is that parking is in the central station parking house which is 5 min walk and also costs 23 euro a night which I think is outrageous. Thursdays the hotel street is closed so you cannot enter it with a car.
Location is great, right in the city center, 5 min walk from the interstate and the opera house.
Hotel staff was very friendly and cooperative.response / report this review
