My experience in Paradisus Princessa del Mar was an experience was fantastic. I cannot say that the property was perfect, but the experience certainly was. I did not appreciate the late check in, as we were not advised it would be at 4pm by our airlines. Since we arrived at 11:30 am, we could not comfortably check in our luggage into our room and enjoy the beach right away. I am assuming this was known and therefore they allowed us to hold our bags in a storage area rather than running around for a few hours with them. Carlos Enrique helped store our luggage, and when we were ready to check in, made sure that our room was perfect before we settled in. Since the original room we had did not have a working AC for some reason, he was quick to get us another room and our chambermaid Yunaikys made sure it was clean and well kept every day.
Before we checked in to our room, we decided to take advantage of the bar in the lobby, and Giovanni made sure we were nourished for the afternoon! :) he was very hospitable and made sure we enjoyed our time throughout the trip.
While the pools looked beautiful, we made sure to spend most of our time on the beach. The beach programs looked fun, but since i never had enough time on the beach locally in the summer, due to my very busy schedule, i wanted to take advantage of swimming and tanning. The morning programs start as early as 10:30, and the staff made sure to invite people to join in if they liked.
The shows were really entertaining, and they had one every night.
The food was great, although if you are expecting to get an exquisite meal- especially if it is labelled from another background i would hold that back. The miramar restaurant (Mediterranean) was beautiful- the food was not as good as i had hoped. As some one who is from the Middle east, the felafel was a disappointment, and so was the labneh stuffed chicken, which did not match the description. I am pretty sure the falafel was some kind of mashed potato that was deep fried, and the "labneh" was some kind of sliced cheese as opposed to the dehydrated yogurt. It was not horrible but it was not great either.
The experience was made better by all the friendships we made. Overall with people on the trip and the staff.
I wanted to thank everyone there that was welcoming to us including Carlos Enrique, Leo, Giovanni, Javier, Dianna, Yunaikys, Belgis, and everyones name who i could not remember now. Thank you all for a fantastic experience, and making me eager to come back again and again. I can't wait till my next trip back, and hope to make it back soon.
It’s been 15 years since the last time (was Sandal Princessa del mar) and the hotel aged graciously and the Cuban still friendly as ever love their resilience! Foods are ok considering the embargo. Just bring some spices in your luggage and stop complaining ( 😝). The beach seem to gain a lot of ground after Irma comparing to the last time i saw the beach will come back for sure.
❤️
The place is very nice. The beach is top notch but the food was terrible all week. Over cooked and under seasoned. It seemed like the chef had seen the dishes on tv but never tasted them in real life. Service was excellent.
Had a great time here. Rooms are clean, beach is beautiful and everything is in close proximity. Food is good too compared to other hotels I've stayed at in Cuba. Just watch out for the room selection, they have new rooms but they are around $100 extra per night, which is not made clear of the website.
Great resort and the best staff. Clean rooms with great service. Beautiful beach, good pool, and great drinks. It's an all inclusive resort. The buffet isn't the best so try to book dinner at restaurants in advance. Sakura restaurant was very good with the best food. Also, there's no wifi service and jacuzzis don't work.
This is an all inclusive resort. The staff, service and amenities available are perfect, no complaints at all. Rooms are all air conditioned, you get plenty of free water bottles, and all the alcohol and alcohol free drinks you want. Food at the restaurants on site are also great, not the best, but good enough. Very close to the beach. Perfect for couples, as there are no kids here.
Amazing beautiful beach! Staff is nice ( most don't speak a lot of English.. but they always say hello and smile!) food was great esp for Cuba! Grounds are well kept, beautiful resort with amazing staff and people!
Great staff, good facilities. Adults only so expect an older crowd. Not a spot if you want to party. Food isnt the greatest, but it's Cuba so it's expected. Highly suggest not taking any tours through nexus. Go to Havana in a private taxi, it'll be way better. Beaches are great!!
FANTASTIC resort! Was recently here for our honeymoon. Stayed 5 days & 4 nights and we do not have a bad thing to say about our stay. Well maintained and clean resort. Quiet & calm atmosphere - exactly what we were looking for. Received great service for our honeymoon and the food was awesome. While some of the portions are small in some of the restaurants, it did not bother us one bit as room service is always available as was the snack bar! Also, a personal thank you to Jorge for making our honeymoon extra-special with just the right amount of attention provided! We plan to come back to celebrate our anniversaries!!
My husband and I stayed here for 7 days in February 2017. We stayed in the Royal Service section and had an absolutely fabulous room with jacuzzi bath and a terrace with loungers and our own canopy bed directly next to a walk out pool and the beach was minutes away. Our Butler, William, was excellent and made our stay perfect - he made all our restaurant reservations, ensured we have everything we wanted was in our mini bar and arranged our personal tour in a Classic Car to Havana - he regularly checked that we were happy with everything. I would recommend this hotel / resort to everyone. The choice of restaurants was great and the food was very good. All the staff work so hard and were amazing and so friendly. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so special.
Enjoyed the Paradisus Del Mar. Service good and staff friendly for the most part. The resort was clean and well maintained including the pool. The beach was excellent. My only reservation is that the buffet food was repetitious
Resort was very good and quite quiet. A little walk to get to the beach, but once there, the sand was perfect. Food was pretty good, but have had better. Staff was very friendly and drinks were always coming. Stayed in the Royal Club which was well worth it. Large rooms, room service with butler was a great plus. No need to go out for breakfast when you can have it on your balcony. Royal beach area was also great, with reserved chairs and bartender brining drinks around.
