We went to The Springs on a two-day guest pass. It was a great deal, the two day and one day passes were the same price! It seemed like the majority of the people there were guests of the suite with very few people there on a day pass, at least that we met. We ate at the restaurant 3 times, twice for dinner, once for breakfast. The food was good. Service was good. We liked the recommendations our server gave us for a dessert. It was a pleasant experience and the restaurant had a great view of the volcano. The only issue is most places are open for lunch but there are only two restaurants, the regular restaurant and the reservation only restaurant open for dinner so there are less options. Since the resort is more secluded it was too much of a hassle to leave the springs, eat, then come back to the springs for us. The springs were great. There were two sections of springs, one in the main part of the building, another downhill a bit. The ones at the main building were bigger but tended to be more crowded. It was pretty easy to find springs with no one in them if that is your goal. Both springs locations had good selections from hot to cooler temperature springs. There was a swim up bar at the main section but a regular bar at the lower springs. Lower springs also had a water slide. My favorite spring was the main one at the lower springs. It felt perfect in terms of temperature and was on the larger and deeper size of the springs. It was right next to the bar as well and it was easy to watch our things or talk to people in the chairs/recliners if need be. At the lower springs it was more in the forest and you could see wildlife. At both springs I saw an emerald basilisk. At the lower springs I additionally saw several birds including guans, great curassows, and two different types of toucans (I believe they were both aracaris). Would highly recommend.

The Springs is everything anyone has ever said positive about it and more. Top 5 location I’ve ever been to, and I’m fairly well travelled. Mind you, after a stay at The Springs, other hotels/destinations may seem a little more drab and low-brow in comparison. It’s sets a very high standard. Private van ride was a little rough from San Jose, but such is the case w driving most places in CR (elev changes, rough road, curves, speed changes, etc. Exhaustion from being awake, in transit planes/cars for 48 straight may have played a role, but who knows.😉), you learn to live with it. CR is well worth a lil motion sickness. Despite all my discontent and worries the moment we arrived at The Springs, all became right in the world. A welcome drink of some tropical concoction. All the preconceived notions of how this place was going to be, were completely blown away. Simply, The Springs is the best hotel/resort/destination I’ve ever experienced. Amazing development set in the middle of the jungle w phenomenal vistas of the rain forest and volcano from every where on their ~150 hectar property. First class rooms. Every one w an unbelievable view of the volcano from bed to wake up to. Enough to make you want to pinch yourself every morning. We did it all, and I can highly recommend every activity they have to offer; more hot springs than you could ever imagine (96), need, or be able to take advantage of, animal tours, repelling down waterfalls, zip line canopy tour, jungle night walk (may sound creepy or unexciting, as it did to me on paper, but believe me, once you get out there it’s a lotta fun (Our guide was Johnny. Excellent dude. Cool, knowledgeable, lotta energy)). The food was outstanding. Killer breakfast buffet, meals/snacks, lounges available all day, sushi, local as well as typical “American” fare, surf/turf, burgers, pastas, u name it, all available at any of the (4?) restaurants they have. The room we had made us feel like we were the only people there; quiet, closed-off from everyone & everything. A feeling of complete seclusion. All the staff was super friendly, up beat, accommodating, eager to help/please, which all made our stay that much more seamless and spectacular. I can’t recommend this place enough, worth every penny. It left a lasting memory w us that we will carry with us for years to come. It‘ll also be what I compare every place I go to from here on, which doesn’t exactly bode well for my future travels😉. Gives me the feeling of needing to check out travel sites just writing this review. If you’re looking into where to go/stay in CR, do yourself a favor and pick The Springs for the inland jungle portion of your trip. After the The Springs, book a rafting trip west and make your way to the Tamarindo on the west coast. You can thank me later😜 Pura Vida🤙

Day pass is worth it! It is intimate and has so many hot springs you can barely see them all. They have tons of onsite activities. Their spa facilities were fantastic and relaxing. We got a massage and it was excellent. I would highly recommend for the adventure goers that need a day to relax. (Also we heard that the springs is better than Baldi if you are deciding between the two).

We are here in a honeymoon suite on the first floor. I may be wrong but I think all the other rooms above us are the same layout with the exception of a second jacuzzi on the patio but n the honeymoon suites! The staff are professional and courteous at all times. I recommend staying here. The hot springs are the greatest. It is August now and I haven't seen a single mosquito in 5 days. I would suggest bringing any plants that are in the room outside because we found an army of ants in the room on the plant. The weather has been near perfect and almost no rain. I hear it is uncommon for August to have such wonderful weather. I could go on and on about everything we've seen and done but hey this review is for the resort and not all the other stuff. Be careful driving in from the main road as buses and large trucks don't slow down around the hairpin turns on the mountains and the cliff will kill you should you fall. They are paving the road as I write this in August of 2017. Anyway I definitely recommend this resort and the locals say that this the best resort to stay.

The resort was a fantastic place to visit. The rooms were big and grand, close to the hot springs and to lobby area. It can be somewhat expensive, due to the location. The amount of available activities are worth the price however.

Gorgeous hotel where everything is constructed to show off the amazing view of the arenal volcano. There's a gazillion little pools some of them heated from thermal springs, and a handful of restaurants to choose from which is great since the hotel is quite a distance from the La Fortuna town and the road to get there is bumpy and over 3km long. We ve been here two days and the service has been Costa Rican warm.. food at Las Ventanas was impecable rooms are clean and sizeable. My fav is the hammacks on the giant balcony!!

Beautiful Serene grounds. Food is pricey but delicious. Staff is friendly and the Rio Club is awesome. Try the cat feeding tour which is amazing.

This is a more than 5 Star hotel. The guest rooms and the lobby, dining areas and spa are designed with love and care. You find the art of wood in every single piece of furniture everywhere, in floors and ceilings, walls and even along the wonderful bridge connecting the new and main buildings. Fantastic nature, natural springs, beautiful landscaping. Professionally trained friendly staff makes you feel a part of a huge warm family. Spa service is excellent. The food is amazing in all restourants. Highly recommended!

Fantastic series of cascading hot spring pools interconnected between lush tropical gardens, looking directly up at the Arenal Volcano. A truly magical experience. The hotel itself seems nice judging from the locker rooms, but because we just visited for the day I can't say too much about it. Also has a swim-up bar in a hot pool. Would give this place 5 stars except for the experience at the pool bar. It's really petty, but when I ordered a second Nutty Colada they served me a Pina Colada instead. When I pointed it out, the bartender first said, "they're the same" and then followed that up with "no, it's a Pina Colada". But does it matter if I was right or not? It was an $11 drink I didn't want, and he wouldn't fix or replace it. So no tip, and that was the end of what might have been an afternoon of drinking $11 drinks, and I certainly wouldn't spend a honeymoon here.

Perhaps the best and most romantic resort in Costa Rica. Priced accordingly.
