We took a half day tour walking on the lava deposits from the Arenal volcano with Ecoterra.
Our guide was excellent, knowing not just the history of the volcano but also being able to add stories from his own experience.

I bought the 6 nights/7 days groupon deal with ecoterra. Ecoterra was an amazing agency! I was happy with all of their services, the tour guides are very friendly, organized, and professional. I definitely recommend them!!! The only thing I wish is I spent more days in La Fortuna. Overall, aweosme experience!

My friend and I took a guided tour through the 'Arenal Hanging Bridges Hike' and it was 100% worth the (small) cost of a guided tour! Our tour guide, Marces (?), was fantastic. It was SO clear he is passionate about Costa Rica and his job through his enthusiasm and energy through the entire tour. I was impressed. He took professional grade photos through the whole tour, and later shared them with us all that alone making the cost worth the tour. He also shared surprisingly helpful tools for getting good photographs of the animals and landscapes through out the tour while ALSO taking photos for each of us on the tour. He knows that hike like the back of his hand and we learned SO much about the Costa Rican forest, history, animals and beyond. At the end, they had snacks set out for us all. It was an absolutely perfect excursion. I recommend as highly as I can!

We went to the Casa Luna hotel in La Fortuna for our honeymoon through Ecoterra and had the BEST vacation I have ever had. We went zip lining, waterfall canyoning, whitewater rafting, hiking to the lava flow, and on a tour through the rainforest and had the most polite and knowledgeable guides on every single trip. Part of our vacation package with Ecoterra was to go to Jaco Beach but I wish we would have stayed in La Fortuna.

I cant say enough good things about our experience! We began our journey of a bus & boat ride to Laguna Lodge. Our assigned tour Guide Sebastian was amazing! Sebastian and all of the guides made sure we experienced and saw everything they had to offer. From there we upgraded to the short flight to LaFortuna. There we stayed at Casaluna, another great experience! We loved the excursions and we are SO happy our travel planner recommended the hot springs upgrade, this was by far the highlight of the trip (besides all of the wildlife of course) Everything A-Z was well organised and top notch!

I had a fantastic vacation with my first trip to Costa Rica. Everything was pre-booked and pre-arranged by Ecoterra. Nothing went wrong, all services were ready and waiting for us on time. All hotels were in great location to explore the area and with unique character of each one. Thanks to Karen being patient with my questions and concerns prior trip. She suggested an extended itinerary to Tortuguero, and it was a great experience. I would highly recommend this company.

Pros: Booking process was easy
Our driver made us feel very welcome and pointed out amazing focal points along our journey.
Our driver was funny too
Wifi was amazing and complimentary bottle of water.
Ecoterra were happy for us to change our travel arrangements the day before. Fast and efficient replying to emails. So helpful!
Cons: one downside is that we had to use interbus as a supplier for two of trips booked with ecoterra because they did not cover the areas we went to. And they don't have wifi

We booked our whole Costa Rica Trip through them and it was AMAZING. We got it through groupon, and we couldn't have had a better honeymoon. Everything was VERY punctual and planned nicely. We highly recommend.

Great and very professional tour company. We travelled from California for the first time to Costa Rica and had a great time thanks to Ecoterra. We took many of their tours and all of their guides were very knowledgeable. Our tour guides were Julio, Jason, Gilbert, And Brandon, and they were great. In almost every tour they provided an amazingly delicious and authentic food. They would take a telescope with them on the tours so we can observe the sloth's, snakes, birds, and butterflies with a better view. I strongly recommend the hanging bridges tours although it is also a park one can enjoy on your own although not with great explanations as is done by Ecoterra. But if your on a budget its something you can do on your own. The tour you should definitely take with them is the Hule Valconic Lagoon as it was an amazing experience. You go in the water although it is freezing. You see the top of the volcano which is now a lagoon from an amazing view. We saw like three snakes on our trip but they were all harmless and our guides would grab them with no fear to show us. We saw amazing butterflies the size of your hand. We were taken to a ladies house who had amazingly delicious and authentic food as there was Latino music playing in the background. I also recommend the Rio Celeste tour although you can also do that one your own as the trails are pretty easy for self guiding. But it is a must do because the water is absolutely stunning to see. We also did the eternal forest of the children I think it was called and that was also a beautiful experience. You have do that one through them and we saw tons of natural life. Thank you Ecoterra for a great trip and thank you Jason, Gilbert, Brandon and Julio for a great experience.

Ecoterra took good care of us. La Fortuna has a different vibe than Tortuguero but a lot more variety of activities. Next time, I'll have to check out river safari or Monte Verde

There is no doubt about it, Eco Terra Costa Rica designed a package for my wife and me that introduced us to La Pura Vida of this veritable paradise. From the labyrinth of waterways brimming with wildlife in Tortuguero (on the Caribbean side) to La Fortuna with its Arenal Volcano, zip-lines and hot-springs. Cloud high Monteverde is nearby and the range of adventures would take two weeks to experience. Eco Terra arranged transportation to our Pacific Shangri La and orchestrated the holiday of a lifetime for us.

The trip was such a great experience. There were no hidden fees, they warned us of everything before we left for the trip. The tour guides were all so kind, friendly, and fun! I had such an amazing trip, the places were beautiful and the people gave great service. The free breakfast, lunches, and dinners were really delicious and it was all just a wonderful experience. My tour guide Randell from Tortuguero was the best. He was very knowledgeable about the town, the animals and plants, he was very passionate and optimistic, you can tell he was loved what he was doing!
