It's a simple hotel but you immediatly feel welcome! Shops, ATM, restaurants are closeby. People are very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast is served at your table, simple but delicious.
Great place to stay. Quaint & cozy. The staff is super friendly & accommodating. Fresh fruit & hot food for breakfast. The roads to Monteverde are good.
Great place to stay in Monteverde, favorite spot
The staff were so helpful and kind that I felt like I was there only guest. The place is very well named as it is rustic and very charming with great access to all the activities in Monteverde. The guys at reception helped me pick and choose which companies to book with and made the arrangements for me. They couldn't have been more helpful. Can't recommend them enough!!
Really cozy and nice staff
great accomodations! very clean and the staff is very helpful! i highly recommend staying here. they give you tour recommendations if you want and they are not pushy at all.
no A/C but we didn't have trouble with the temperature.
The owners of the lodge treated us like royalty. The rooms were pristine and the staff even upgraded us to a bigger room for free in the middle of our trip. Our other hotel accommodations towards the end of our trip fell through, but the Rustic Lodge was able to help us out for another night no problem! We really enjoyed the lodge and surrounding area. The staff showed us some special sleeping plants and sloths in the backyard. They even brought breakfast to our door! What was the most helpful was having the owner recommend and personally call drivers to pick us up on excursions. I couldn't be happier with the experience!
Well run, nice staff. Room was a little chilly though.
I would 100% recommend this to any type of traveler
José was by far the nicest owner I'd ever met. When we first arrived, he gave us a map and ran through all the interesting tours and attractions and their prices and times, then led us into our rooms. José also gave us suggestions for lunch, and when it began to rain, he actually drove us to the restaurant himself to help us get there. He also helped us book all of our tours, too. The only downside was that the rooms did not have a TV or AC; AC is not "necessary" in Monteverde due to the cool weather, but some form of dehumidifier would have been greatly appreciated because the cloud forest made the town incredibly humid and moist all the time. Moreover, breakfast was slightly disappointing with only pancakes, unless you asked for toast and eggs on your own - a menu to help would be greatly appreciated. The jam - pineapple and papaya - is homemade and delicious, though.
Super friendly staff and clean up to date rooms. Santa Elena was a neat little village with lots to see and explore. Rooms overlooking alleyway were a bit noisy but easily overlooked. With a little luck you'll see sloths crawling through the trees.
