  Incredible visit here in January, 2015. The accomodations, grounds and staff were incredible and the intimate setting, personal touches, like night tours offered by an expert guide, cocktail hour with homemade desserts each night while watching breathtaking sunsets, and attention to every last detail in terms of suites, made this one of my favorite places in all of Costa Rica. Such a unique place and close to several great dining options as well as an infinite number of things to do and see make Hidden Canopy a fantastic choice for adventure seekers, nature enthusiasts and those who want a tranquil escape they will cherish. Highly recommend!!

  We stayed at the Eden treehouse for 3 days in January 2018 for our anniversary. It was wonderful!! It has a hot tub in the treehouse that was fantastic. Everything was great - the breakfast, tea time/happy hour, the grounds, seeing the hummingbirds and toucans from the breakfast area. Jenn and her staff are so friendly and helpful. We took the day and night cloud forest tours with Koky - who is awesome! We went zip lining at Sky Trek - very exciting and fun! Everything was perfect. Can't wait to come back again!

  If you want the owner to track your every move, spy on you, and notify you when you get in every night this may not be the best place for you. Granted it is beautiful but you have to contend with the owner breathing down your neck at every turn. Also be very careful we were erroneously charged $500 for smoking in a room and none of us smoke. Be careful when booking here. It could cost you.

  Oh my god she is the kindest and most wonderful person you will ever meet. There are no ladders to get up to your room, which is clean and luxurious. I loved her 3 animals 2 cats and 1 dog both nice and will not bite you. The breakfast is exquisite and very tasty and will carry you through your day. The tea time is amazing because she will converse over free liquor and fresh juice. Overall the experience is unforgettable and I would recommend because it well worth the cost to live in luxury while in nature.

  My husband and I stayed two nights at Hidden Canopy during our honeymoon. It was hands down our favorite place of the entire trip. The grounds are breathtaking and the tree houses are incredibly romantic and private. I would love to go back to the cloud forest and spend more time with Jen and her wonderful staff!

  This is hands-down the most breathtaking and beautiful place my wife and I have ever spent a vacation. The view is wonderful, whether from our room or from the serving area from breakfast / happy hour, there is always something beautiful to gaze out and look at.
  
  The rooms and general residence are furnished nicely, and the staff is beyond helpful in arranging excursions, giving dining and activity recommendations, and providing an extra-early to-go breakfast if you're traveling before normal breakfast hours.
  
  We have absolutely fallen in love with this Bed and Breakfast and already know where we will be heading, once we decide to explore Costa Rica once again.

  My husband and I celebrated my thirtieth birthday in Monteverde. Jennifer and the entire Hidden Canopy Treehouse staff were warm, attentive and helpful throughout our stay (even decorating our room and giving us a complimentary bottle of red reserve wine for my birthday)! The grounds at Hidden Canopy are beautiful and the view from the indoor dining area is truly breathtaking. The tea time and breakfast were included in the cost and were tasty and substantial. We stayed in the main house, which still felt very private. We had a private front deck where we could watch several species of hummingbirds feeding and the resident kitties sunbathing. Also, we would highly recommend booking a guided walking tour (or two) with Koky. My husband and I went on both the evening and daytime tours with Koky and they were two of the best activities we did during our entire stay in Costa Rica. Koky is an expert at spotting wildlife and is so knowledgable about the flora and fauna in the area. You will not be disappointed if you stay at Hidden Canopy - luxury accommodations and treatment from beginning to end! We will definitely be back

  Amazing views, accommodations, breakfast/tea time, naturalist, cats, hummingbirds and service.
  
  We visited for 3 days and were blown away. If you want privacy, you have an amazing private villa. You also have the option to be more social at the main house.
  
  We stayed at the Rivendell which is a two floor, two bedroom villa - more than what we needed, but what we could get on short notice).
  
  We also had a great time at the main house. We got lots of good advice, met some nice other guests, and got to play with the owner's cats. From the main house we got to watch hummingbirds visiting their feeders over breakfast or happy hour. You can also order meals from a few local restaurants, which we did on one occasion and eat them at the main house or your room.
  
  The main house is Jen's and so it does feel like you are staying at someone's home with rules to follow and not an impersonal hotel lobby. We were slightly taken aback by the list of rules when we checked in. But the rules are reasonable (i.e. don't wear shoes, put toilet seats down so cats can't drink from them, plus a half dozen others like this). Jen is a very accommodating and knowledgeable hostess.
  
  We had three separate tours with Koky (the guide for the resort) and would strongly recommend him. His English is excellent and his knowledge of the local wildlife (plants, birds, and animals) was amazing. As Jen describes he speaks excellent bird. While on tours with Koky we did see a male Quetzal, and also an Olingo if mammals are more your thing.
  
  The staff was very accommodating. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.
  
  The negatives were mild. Our room did not have air-conditioning. I expect this is not an issue often, but it was warmer than usual when we were there. The main floor of our villa has a lot of glass (and great views!) but it was hot during the day. One of the bedrooms was warm, the other cool. We always had a cool part of the house to hang out in, so it wasn't a bit deal. The main house also felt more comfortable than our private living room during the peak heat hours of the day.
  
  You will also need help with transportation to town (not that walkable). If you need a cab they will get one, so this is not a big deal. Hilly and unpaved, so not a great area to go for runs (doable, just not great) if that is the sort of thing you might do on vacation.
