Interesting history, fun location. Good food. The staff doesn't hurry you along. If you can, try and get a table at the railing and watch the amazing sunset.

Maybe get a pitcher of the red sangria.

A restaurant built around a plane from the Contra wars in Nicaragua might sound like a gimmick. But the food was great. The service was friendly. And view o of the ocean is spectacular. If you are visiting Manuel Antonio Park in the morning it is a great place to have lunch.

What a fun restaurant. We thought the Fairchild aircraft was going to be the highlight, but the view and the food were! Great service, great food, fun concept! We eat the every time we are in the area!

Really good food and drinks. Our waiter was attentive and very friendly. Not only do you get to go inside a giant air plane but the views are from the restaurant are unbelievable. A monkey even decided to join us for lunch.

Great place with awesome bartenders. This place has an awesome story of how the plane ended up where it's at. Good overall service and food. Drinks are reasonable price for the location.

Great view, food is probably 3-star but they actually have quick service which is a rare find out here.

We loved the chicken nachos, fish sandwich and seafood fettuccine were alright. Skip dessert, it's not good.

Really though, come for the view, you won't be disappointed.

The setting is great: an old plane is used as a structure for the bar/restaurant. You can have a drink in the plane body or walk up stairs to admire a breathtaking view over the ocean. Good spot for sunset and good drinks ( monkey business is a favorite). Only 4 stars due to rude service.

El Avion is a really unique restaurant with an awesome frame of an airplane in the middle of the restaurant with a bar inside. Our experience was very good, the food was great and came out really quick. My only complaint was the cocktails, which I believe they did not use "fresh" juice in and possibly used a sort of mix in the ingredients. This place is operated very well though and our service for a large party was fantastic.

Very cool bar inside fuselage of airplane. Fantastic views of forest and coast below. Good, but not great, food. Good cocktails. Good service. Fun place. Very crowded, but it's big so there wasn't a wait.

Go for the view! The service and food are subpar and overpriced. Still went twice.

Unique restaurant with a plane frame built-in. The view off the back terrace is much more worth the trip than the plane. Mixed fruit drinks are great, and had a plate of nachos and soup for a light dinner - soup was basically pasta sauce in a bowl - not very good sauce at thatbut in hindsight you shouldnt order soup there anyways. Other plate was good. The view during daylight is worth the trip, and its a great place just to hang out for drinks.

Super views from the upper and lower deck. The Nachos is piled high just like your local bar back home with a ton of stuff. The seafood fettuccine in cream sauce had more seafood than noodles. Also obviously there is a plane in the front that doubles as a bar. It's a super gimmick that you need to see. When you pay in dollars they give dollars back.

One the best fish fillets I have ever had in Costa Rica. Packed with tourists heading to Manuel Antonio. The buses stop there and the place is always packed for lunch. Avoid going there from 12pm to 2pm. Expensive as everything else in Manuel Antonio. Great views.
