Rooms are very simple but an interesting experience to stay in. Good location to the main city center.

I was honestly a bit worried about visiting this hotel when I saw that it had such negative reviews. However, when I went to stay with my partner as part of a Contiki trip in January 2017 I was pleasantly surprised. Now, the hotel is not 5 star luxury, but it definitely meets all the basic necessities and the vegetarian food was quite nice as well (also got ice-cream that looked like the Swiss flag which was sweet!) I'd say give it a chance if you're on a budget. It's also in a pretty good location, close to a supermarket and in the middle of town. Overall a good experience.

if you didn't have your own bathroom it would be classified as a hostel. The idea is coolbut staff aren't very friendly and the sheets and blankets were not clean

Pretty cool but not the cleanest place. Some people had bed bugs but they were allowed to change rooms. The showers are moldy and unclean. But staying in a prison is pretty cool. I wouldn't come here if I wasn't on Contiki as it gets pretty rowdy with the Contiki team here.

Would only recommend to stay for one night and light travellers. We went as a large group going throughout Europe so our luggage was a pain to bring up the flights of stairs. There was also no room for them in the room. Rooms were so hot. There is no air conditioning except for one very small window very high up. The washroom is a very small area sectioned off in the room! It was interesting to see the artifacts from when it was a jail, but definitely not worth going back
