The hotel in located in front of the the Reuss river. Staff was very friendly and breakfast was good.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Tourist Hotel in Luzern, Switzerland. Our room was clean, breakfast was good and the hotel desk was always friendly and helpful. Additionally, my husband inadvertently left his backpack in the lounge and Christopher was amazing. I called him immediately when we were at the train station heading to Zurich and he said he'd mail it to the states. He followed up immediately and we had our package upon our return. Thank you, Christopher, for assuaging my anxiety and helping so quickly. Great hotel!!!!

I would not recommend staying there. First of all, our room did not look like the pictures posted- at all! The breakfast that was offered was not good, maybe better if you're use to a more "European" style breakfast. The rooms have no air conditioning, nor fan. We had to ask for a fan our 2nd night in, and they didn't seem to like that. The shower heads sucked. Also, the hall ways have an institutional vibe about them. On a positive note, the location was convenient.

The hotel is on the waterfront, the owners speak English and are very helpful with city navigation, free coffee all day, breakfast in a city where everything is expensive is a pleasant change. Room is nice, not amazing but cozy enough, would recommend.

I stayed at The Tourist in April 2017. Everything was as advertised. It is a fine establishment with friendly staff and clean rooms. It is a great location and the breakfasts are good.

Location : excellent !
Room - big rooms for 4 people,very clean
People - very nice receptionist and helpful
Breakfast - very nice food and nice waiter who always smile
Tea and coffee are ready for 24 hours
Highly recommended ..will be back for next trip ..

We've stayed in a few hotels on a 3 week journey in this region, some top rated ones. This hotel is roomy in comparison, serviced daily, close to all amenities, quiet, cosey, homely feel. Friendly and helpful staff, nice cold breakfast, all day free self serve coffee, tea, cold water. Free good wifi, elevator, TV but no English speaking channels. We had a balcony overlooking the river in full view. Very relaxing.
