Pretty great, no frills hotel if you're on a budget. Located in downtown Vancouver with quick access to many neighborhoods. You won't have your own bathroom, but I stayed here for three nights and never saw another person on the floor.
You'll get keys to access the bathroom - you won't be sharing it at the same time. Very clean. It's no frills, so don't expect a bunch of extras, but if you're looking to save a few bucks while staying downtown, this is a great way to go. Highly recommend!
Stayed here after extending my Vancouver stay. Does what it says on the tin. Friendly, clean, great views. Unfortunately water bottle dispensing machine wasn’t working nor the additional lift. With 12 floors you’re going to need these. Staff are attentive and it’s across the road from the sports stadium and ice hockey rink. Perfect for when Coldplay came to sing. Good ROI / Value for money!
The YWCA Hotel is in the most convenient location for attending events at Rogers Arena or BC Place! The quint room we stayed in was clean and had everything we needed. Check in was quick & easy and the staff were very friendly.
Although this is a budget hotel, we felt very comfortable staying here for 1 night before leaving for Victoria, and then 3 nights after our return. They just charged us $5 one night for keeping baggage for us.
All staff are very friendly and helpful. I am especially thankful to one pretty front desk lady of a mix of the Philippines and Spanish origins who treats guests as friends and makes them feel at home. She offered all sorts of help to us, shared with us local culture and even came to our room to help teach us how to use the door lock. My greatest thanks to her.
It is very cost effective. We had even more enjoyable stay here than the 4 and 5 star hotels we stayed in Banff and Victoria. It deserves 5 stars. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.
This is my favorite place to stay when I visit Vancouver. The rooms are small, and some partially share a bathroom, but they are super clean, the beds are comfortable, and they have all the things you might need. Location is great, but the best is the price! Even parking is affordable. I like knowing I'm supporting the community as well. It's somewhere between a hostel and a hotel and I love it.
Super close to Rogers arena, which is great for concerts. Room was a good size and the air conditioner works very well. The room we were in was quite quiet at night, the windows did a good job of blocking out street traffic up at the 10th floor.
Room is well maintained but a little dated. Considering the price and location in downtown Vancouver, it is an excellent option for people that don't want to spend a lot but still want to be close to the heart of the city. Full shared kitchen is a nice option to also have for prepping your own home cooked meals. Keycard access restrained to each floor makes it safe for folks travelling alone.
Check-in and Check-out were easy. Had no problems extending our stay. Beds are super comfy! I found our rooms to be clean and the cleaning ladies were always kind. I can't say the same about the shared kitchens though, so if you're a family and you need to use a kitchen, I would definitely recommend looking into different places in the city, specifically apart-hotels. :)
I stayed at the YWCA for a night while visiting the city and it was lovely. Super central, great view from our room (our window looked right at BC place), comfortable bed, and it was affordable. Definitely will stay again.
We were anxious about staying here but got upgraded to a room with a private bathroom and had a great stay! It was very clean and economical. We were super happy.
The 5 person room is great! We all slept well on comfortable beds! No real complaints just not 5 star quality
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. The beds and pillows were super comfortable. The on-site parking was an added bonus. It is within walking distance of Rogers Arena. I will stay there anytime I'm in Vancouver.
