Have been coming here for Grooming service since they opened. They have terrific staff and genuinely care for the dogs. They also carry lots of great products, local too.

    The best experience!
I was really nevouse about boarding my 3 month old puppy, having never boarded an animal before. They were amazing. She stayed for 6 nights and they kept me updated on how she was doing daily. I really love that there are staff members there at night and the dogs are not just caged(unless the dog prefers it). Other boarding places just crate them and leave them unsupervised all night. Not this place. My puppy got snuggles at night. The staff seem very knowledgeable and caring. Will definitely take her there again!
Thank you Uptown Dawg for taking such great care of our baby!

My dogs stay over night in pomo and do day trips in new west. Great staff. No kennels unkess you have a kennel trained dog. Humans wirk 24/7 if the dogs are over night. Great nail and from service.

Although it hasn't been a problem with the staff in the past 2 1/2 years, current or new staff at Uptown Dawg are not capable of taking care of large breed dogs with seperation anxiety.

I am very disappointed with how they treated my dog today. He cannot be left alone, which is why we take him to daycare. If he is left alone he will become so distressed that he will become distructive and could even possibly hurt himself.

Today, Uptown Dawg left him alone in their lounge after seperating him from the other dogs. They told us he was too hyper and his running triggered aggression in other dogs, and he needed to be seperated. No one could stay with him because they were understaffed. Since my dog was in total distress from being left alone, this overwhelmed the staff and they called us to pick him up early.

I understand why they needed to seperate him, but I am really upset that they isolated him when he suffers from really severe seperation anxiety. They did not have the capacity nor experience to take care of my dog and in turn he experienced tremendous amount of distress. It is so unfortunate.

My review on Uptown Dawg as a former employee Is, when I had my first Interview with the owner Shannon and the Assistant Manager Jennifer Is that I found they were both Impeccably nice yet still had a professional manner of how they brought themselves to me during the Interview. When I started my first shift at Uptown Dawg I found that It was a bit overwhelming at first due to everything being new and exciting. As I started working there as weeks progressed I found myself getting use to the routine of the workplace and Interracting more with the staff. I found over the duration of time I worked there I found I was being more Intimated than welcomed which I did not find very settling or easy for myself to get use to. However what I did enjoy about this former job was the knowledge I began to learn and the Interaction I had with the animals, owners and staff that I did build relationships with.

Our dogs love everything about Uptown. They come to daycare and board here. One of our dogs is suspicious of strangers but she feels right at home here. I can't say enough great things about the people, services and the merchandise in their store.

We just love this place! Our dog is always happy to go there and we get adorable photos of her :) staff is friendly and efficient. Of course, this being a doggy daycare we expect the occasional injury or mess; dogs will be dogs, we are always told of minor injuries and she always comes home clean. We strongly recommend this great doggy play care centre!

Really didn't want it to come to this but the behavior of the owner, Shannon has made it necessary. We understand that nick's and scratches at dog daycare happen. In fact, it's happened at Uptown Dawg before and we brought our Choc Lab Walter back many times. The most recent time was as we were moving. While at Uptown Dawg, Walter and other dogs were playing and bumped into and dislodged a wrap covering up a screw sticking out of a post. Walter was cut deeply for many stitches. He was taken to the vet and treated. Shannon immediately took responsibility and paid the vet bill. We told her we were moving and that there may be after-care needed . She agreed to look after it at the time. Fast forward 2 weeks. Most of Walter's stitches came out on their own and with the vet's advice, we removed the last one. The next day, the wound opened up again and had to be re-stitched. We tried contacting Shannon to help multiple times throughout the day. When she finally returned our calls she was quite rude, said Walter's injury wasn't her responsibility and that if pressed she might pay half of the new vet bill. When I explained that wasn't what she'd agreed to at the time of the original injury, she said something to the effect of "too bad" and promptly hung up on me! It's really too bad to end the relationship like this as we would have continued to recommend and use the daycare frequently when in town.
