We love this small and cozy hotel. We stayed back in January of 2017, and decided to host our wedding there in Sept of 2017.
Our wedding was great, staff was friendly and attentive, the manager was there to help every step of the way. Food was amazing!! Our fam and friends were very happy. We'll be coming back again soon.
Thank you Ian, staff and chef Karen! It was a wonderful stay.
Nice surroundings. Paid quite a bit for the room, along with that comes an expectation of attention to details.
In our room King Deluxe w/ Fireplace..a light didn't work, the clock didn't work and the biggest thing to us, the mattress on the bed was very worn. My wife and I each slept in a valley separated by a hill.
Great grounds, pleasant staff but great weight should be put on where the guest lay their head - in this room, for this stay this wasn't the case.
The hotel is small and charming a nice change from the larger hotels in the area and still within a minutes walk to the main strip. The grounds are very well manacured. To access the pool and hot tub (not a hot spring as advertised) you must exit through the main entrance and walk through the parking lot. We stayed in a premium king room on the third floor with a view of the water and golf course. We found the bed extremely firm and the air conditioner would make a loud bang every time it would cycle on. When we checked in we were told that the steam room was out of service because the air conditioning in the spa was broken. We had a couples massage which was interrupted by the lawn maintenance crew working on the grounds directly outside the room. We had lunch at the restaurant and ordered the salmon and steak only to be told after we had placed our order that there was no more steak available. All in all I would sum our experience as DISAPPOINTING. I will not consider this location for our next visit to Niagara on the lake.
Amazing location close to the main Niagara on the Lake area - Spa was good, the food offered was fine dining with a slight twist (the chef put teriyaki sauce on the rack of lamb - when I thought the pumpkin pesto was enough or a basic salt/pepper/rosemary is great). Few places I've stayed at have hardwood floors in the room so it has a very nice/clean feel. I stayed here for an anniversary with my wife and we enjoyed it thoroughly.
Overall my experience at Oban Inn was great. Front desk staff were friendly and informative. My room was automatically upgraded from Deluxe to premium at check in which included turn down bed service. The room was spacious and comfortable including the bed and pillows I had a good nights sleep. My spa services were excellent; body polish, anti stress massage and reflexology. I recommend both Oksana who performed my massage and Lorn for reflexology. I would definitely come back.
I was here for a wedding. The ceremony and reception were at the inn and we stayed the night. Beautiful grounds, great customer service and amazing food!
This review is in regards to the spa. Excellent and one of the best around. Can't comment on the hotel or restaurant.
We stayed at Oban Inn for our wedding on the busiest weekend of last summer in NOTL. We had block booked a few rooms for us and the family, but despite assurance from the manager that we had rooms, two of the rooms, i.e. the bride and groom's were missing from the reservation. They managed to move other clients around, and get us two rooms, one very dark and dingy, and the other very very small. Neither was appropriate for a wedding party getting ready for the day. Very disappointed that we had to go through all that stress because the right and left hands of the management hadn't talked to each other! And very disappointed with our rooms as well, that were not suitable for proper photos.
everything was perfectstaff was amazingHeather gave me the best facial I have ever hadChristmas dinner was excellent very dog friendly as wellloved my four night staythank you so much! Cannot wait to return and enjoy the pool in the summer
Nice size inn with a full service restaurant, spa as well as a small outdoor pool and exercise room (very small).
The room was very clean and comfortable and we had only one minor issue - the hair dryer did not work and they could not provide a replacement. As such, my wife was a little displeased but other than that, all was fine.
The included breakfast is continental, self serve which we liked very much. If you want more 'hearty' fare there are two small restaurants in town which is a short 2 block walk from the Inn.
The Inn sits one block from Lake Ontario which you can see from the rooms and many on the 2nd floor have small sitting areas/balcony which are a nice respite for afternoon tea or wine.
This was our first trip to Niagara on the Lake and we loved the area. They must have more wineries per square mile than any location in N. America! Definitely a must see in our book and we will return soon.
