Had my Wedding here a week ago and can't say enough good things about the services. Grace was amazing to work with. She made the entire process enjoyable. All the staff that were part of our wedding day were great.

For what you pay - lovely hotel! Historic building (a bit old but has character) and great location. Amazing free breakfast ordered from menu. Downside - sketchy people outside.

Rooms are outdated. Bathtub was clogged. Hot water wasn't hot one day, then the next it would switch from hot and cold. No temperature control in the room (Summer you can only turn on AC and Fall-Spring only heat, despite it being 30 degrees in the room in fall). Very bad at keeping trouble people out, heard people getting assaulted in the public bathroom on first floor. No amenities in the room except the absolute bare minimum (a bed). Staff was nice, hence 1 star.

Had to switch hotels because scared for safety, and horrible quality.

When we booked our stay here, it was very affordably priced and we were aware that we were not signing up for a 5 star hotel experience. We were not prepared for the disaster we walked into. Our first night there there where people passed out with their genitals exposed in our floor elevator area (with empty liquor bottles). The police and ambulance had to be called several times a day to handle the rowdy guests. I would recommend paying a little more for a classier place ESPECIALLY if you have kids.

Having said that, the staff were friendly and accommodating, they had a very good made to order free breakfast, and our room was clean and functional, albeit quite dated. The pool and water slide were clean enough. You do have to pay to park in the parking structure (I think it was about $10 per day) but it is right next to the hotel.

Not even worth one star. Except the staff, the staff are great. But this hotel, it's like just a place where drunk people hang out. I encountered beggars, a drunk guy peeing on a tree outside the building, wandered on to the wrong floor by accident (walls torn up and ceilings torn up)and this building needs major renovations. God forbid U go for a smoking room. No air circulation and it smelled like many ashtrays had been rubbed into the carpet. (housekeeping standards were fine) but the carpet was in dire need of replacement. For the price it's not even worth half that the diner served a pot of water with my tea that seemed like it was just from the warm water tap not a kettle or anything. ( but the food quality was decent) also staff allowed a woman ( ill admit she looked kinda mean I wouldn't approach her either but) to bring her small dog into the eating area, like I know they may allow pets but it's kinda weird in the eating area. And a room on our floor had water flooding out from under the door for the entire duration of our stay when we told front desk upon leaving they said they were already aware.. just don't stay here.

I visit every year for the Fringe Festival. Marlborough is the perfect location to take it all in from - I park my car and walk. Rooms always clean and comfortable, with excellent amenities. Good breakfast at the cafe. Very satisfied customer, returning year after year

All staff members informative, helpful, gracious, and easy going. Wonderful people! Central location. Easy access to parking, bus services, and restaurants. Suggestions for your consideration, please: Some challenges adjusting shower temperature in 507. ? A pressure issue. Also, time on clock blinks periodically ? due to power surges. Lovely historical architecture in hotel Breakfasts were delicious and staff terrific. Next time in Winnipeg, I will likely stay at this hotel again. Have already recommended it to other persons. Thanks for everything! Enjoy the rest of your summer!

There is a charm in early 20th century architecture which is difficult to find in western Canada. The Marlborough has all this charm but fall unfortunately short of the associated experience. There were a few curious things about our stay which included a deposit to use the TV and a remote which didn't work with that TV, loud and unruly guests late into the morning, and at least one comment regarding hourly rates for the rooms.

The staff do come across as being proud of the jobs and our breakfast was pleasant. The complementary meal did not include any drinks other than tea or coffee which is OK for adults but does not work for families with children. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable but the air conditioning did not seem to keep up with the size of the room we were in.

Everything people say is true. Sketchy people all around, broken down elevators, super dirty rooms. I'm assuming I got the non-renovated room even though I asked for renovated. They have some work for them and I really hope they make some changes. Fortunately I didn't stay there as I quickly left.

One of the most gehtto hotels I have ever seen. I stay ten minutes and left. It's dirty and disgusting. I was terrified I was going to bring bed bugs home if I stayed. IF YOU ARE USE TO BIG CHAIN HOTELS AND THERE CLEAN ROOMS, RUN FROM THIS PLACE. There were beer cans in the elevator!!! We were singing karaoke and I was on the six floor and I could hear them. There were scuffs all over the walls The carpet had a million stains. The bed looked like something my grandma would have in the 60s. Even the TV was from the 90s. Please please please stay away from that hell hole.

Front desk gets 5 stars but there's only so much they can do themselves Rooms are extremely dated, tvs don't work, pee still on the toilets and hair on the counters and in the sink (makes it extremely dirty) bar in lobby has gambling machines which attracts the wrong crowd, which end up drunk in the lobby and out front asking you for money and cigarettes 15/10 would not recommend I'm pretty well broke and I would rather go down the road and pay $150 per night

Not the best but not the worst.

I agree that there are definitely some unsavory characters that hang around the hotel but unfortunately there's a lot of that in Winnipeg. They usually aren't any trouble aside from trying to bum a few bucks off of you or being really loud.

The rooms are decent for what you pay but I do agree they could definitely use some renovations. Especially in the bathrooms, ick.

Do not visit the bar attached to the hotel. Seriously, don't do it. It's a run down place that the police seem to visit every so often.

The staff are so friendly. They really are a great bunch of people. So much so that they almost make up for the negative things in this hotel, almost.

Checked in late to discover no hot water. Thought it would fix itself by morning; no luck but didn't have time to deal with it so I had to take a cold shower. Talked to reception, they said they put a work order in and it would be fixed. Woke up with no hot water and a cold shower again. Talked to them again and they were surprised nothing had been done. No surprise. Offered to change my room, so I had to go check another room and let the water run for another 5 mins; no change in temperature at all. They said housekeeping would find me a room in the morning so I could take a warm shower. Totally ridiculous. This is in addition to the singular soap you share between the sink and the shower, the one tiny watered down bottle of conditioning shampoo that does neither, and the toilet reminiscent of a public washroom. I also didn't have heat the first night.
Beyond my complaints about the room, there are many (some might say unsavoury) characters in the area. My taxi driver actually warned me about it when he dropped me off and said it wasn't that safe at night. The bar next to the lobby is also very loud with music/karaoke.
Perhaps if I had tried the free breakfast I would have had something nice to say. Or maybe not, I'll never know. 2 stars because I could sleep and there were no bed bugs.
