Great brunch but you will have to wait in line. I went on a Wednesday at 1030 and waited for an hour.
The food is fantastic though. Great options, great with allergies. Mediterranean fusion food ( great for vegans!).
Cocktails are fantastic, staff is very good.

I love this place! The food is tasty, well served, service is very good and helpful. For m drinks, to savory to sweets. Their waffle is the must! Additionally, I adore the idea of ordering a meal and they giving one meal to someone in need.

One of the best brunches in Vancouver with a great variety of options. I have a friend who is allergic to eggs and she still has plenty of options here! Really delicious coffee too! My go to brunch is the Friccassé and there white chocolate, rose water and pistachio mocha, it's awesome! Staff are usually very friendly and attentive, unless you go early be prepared to wait for up to an hour! Worth it though!

Very well known. Has won the award for the best brunch in Vancouver for at least the past five years. I would definitely recommend arriving earlier as they take your name down when there is a table available. I had the waffles for my brunch - delicious.

Very busy even on a Wednesday morning at 10am! No worries, it is worth the wait! Friendly and helpful staff. Waffles are a must try here - recommend the White Choc Pistachio sauce. Coffee/lattes here are also a must. Mains are tasty but a bit too salty for my palate. Overall experience was excellent. Will definitely come back again and recommend to others.

Food is always good here. Must try their waffles which are sweet with a crispy crunch on the outside. Had the fig jam with the waffle which was awesome. Also had the tangine which had a little kick to it. I always enjoy going to Medina, whenever I am in Vancouver. Expect to wait for at least an hour. You can put your name on a wait list and then walk away and visit the library. They won't sit you unless your whole party is there. If you do wait in line though, you may be able to shorten your wait.

My new favorite place! Inventive dishes that are truly different. You just must share a waffle because the sauces are terrific. Great coffees. Sweet staff. Sit at the bar to make new friends.

Not worth the hype. I was there alone, waited half an hour. Ordered waffles, which were very tiny and ordered poached eggs but received scrambled eggs instead so I asked them to correct the order. When I received the poached eggs, they were drowning in yolk as they weren't cooked properly. The food was cold. Paid $20 and was still hungry so went over to Paramount on Robson to get a chicken wrap. Such a shame when places don't live up to their names.

Some cities have a tower with an amazing view, others have spooky vaults under the city and most have a great history with architecture to match. Vancouver has Medina, a Brunch cafe that is open from 8am until 3pm and serves, in this mere mortals opinion is some of the best food in the city with the best atmosphere. If you come to Vancouver and don't pay this a visit its a crime!
    P.S.
Suffer the long queue to get you seat, its well worth it.

Cafe Medina is one of those places I try to hit anytime I'm in Vancouver. I happened upon it a few years ago in it's old location, which was wonderful and quirky. The newer location is definitely more of a hipster vibe but they do it well and have a great, friendly staff. The food is delicious, albeit on the expensive side, but you can't go wrong with any of the dishes and leave room for expensive but fantastic waffles. Highlight for me is the lavender latte, beautiful flavour and leaves me wanting another cup.

Over rated and rip off! The food portion is very small and the taste is so so. The waffle taste worse than I can make at home. The food is expensive. I think the owner purposely create a longer wait time so that people can talk about them in order to fool a lot of people thinking they serve great food. A lot of good reviews do not look real as well.

I've been here a couple times now. There's good ambience and the service is friendly. They have a great selection of interesting cocktails.

I had the veggie paella skillet. The presentation was outstanding - it certainly looked delicious, however the flavour left something to be desired and I found myself asking to for hot sauce to counter the blandness. I fear this is yet another case of not knowing how to add flavour without meat.

The waffles are decent and the dipping sauces are interesting, but they are reheated and you can definitely taste the difference. You're better off going down the street to Nero, where they make them fresh.

All in all, for the price, I would expect more.

A very good brunch place! Everything was delicious, I can definitely recommend the seafood dishes here. It gets really busy most days however so expect an hour or so to get inside and the service to be slower than usual.

Went this morning. 1/2 hr wait went quickly. I had the Paella with a fried egg. Unique and so full of wonderful flavours, not your typical breakfast that's for sure! My husband had the Wolf plate which was also excellent. Complete, well thought out and balanced meals. I would have loved to try many of the items I saw being served as they all looked excellent. We had a seat at the bar and watched the drinks being made with such attention to detail that it made me wish I had ordered something far more original than the good cup of drip coffee which I had :)

Great spot to have brunch if you are up for waiting a while, usually at least 45 min. The food is fantastic and the waffles are fresh and delicious. The service could be better as they usually don't have the best attitude. Maybe because the place is always packed and they are super busy but I would think that if this is the case then they should hire more staff and avoid lacking in customer service.
