Our first time to this restaurant for a special occasion; Thanksgiving with another couple. We all ordered the Thanksgivng special. When are plates arrived we all stared at them with disappointment, such small portions. One small slice of turkey, one tablespoonful of stuffing, 2 small pieces of carrots and 2 Brussels sprouts. Frankly not enough for the price. Everything was quite tasty but we left disappointed.

I took a friend for a birthday/ Thanksgiving dinner. Service was excellent. The amount of turkey given was not enough even for a child's portion. Quite disappointing. When the manager was questioned his response was about how much the pie cost???

good interior and service was decent. However, the food wasn't the best. Food took a while to be served. Mashed potato has dried up from sitting out for a while and the dessert was still frozen in the middle.

Always great food no matter what time of day. Today we had Sam serve us. He was friendly, very helpful with all our changes and very nice to look at. Simon Holt has great chefs.

We booked a reservation for 20 days before and were told no problem. We arrived at 6:00, our order was taken at 6:15. At 7:30 we didn't have food. One of our party had to go to the bar to get many of our own drinks. Manager eventually came and told us two things. One, they got slammed. There were about four or five other tables and an empty restaurant. We watched a family of 6 walk in after us, order after us and get served before us. Two, that our table took so long to order that by the time the waitress got the food into system it had taken that long. We were all frustrated as it was obvious we were deserted for the other tablesnot enough servers. The thing that really bugged us is the manager tried to say we took so long ordering. We ordered in about 5 minutes max because we were all sitting waiting for so long ready to order. Weak, weak, weak. I, along with rest of our group won't be going back.
To be fair, my burger was okay. Everyone else liked their food except the three that had the fish and chips too much batter.response / report this review -

I was at your restaurant last Sat. and had to let you know that my son and myself thought your Caesar Salad was the best we had ever had.I had the coconut prawns .DELICIOUS! Very nice waiter! Will definitely be back!

Most disappointing experience. I've heard such high reviews and expected a fancy restaurant. It had the feel of a family restaurant, the appy was beyond small, the lamb burger I was told came with goat cheese there was none but they tried to convince me it was in the patty which was was dry and tasteless, the fries looked like they were the bottom of the batch that had been sitting all day - dry and hard, then the bill came and our drinks were $2+ per drink more than the menu said. Not impressed. Won't be going back. Would go to Longwood down the road 100x over before even considering this place.

My wife and I were at Simonholt again for dinner this evening and we had another first class experience. Dinner was outstanding and the staff was prompt and helpful. Well done!
