Clean, quiet, excellent location, great staff both at the inn, and in the cafe. Great food, reasonable prices. The property is well kept and charming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We just had a few basic pub drinks and a few games of pool.
Nothing about our experience was bad, it's just good standard.
I like it as a neighborhood pub.

Thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay. The room was clean and the bed was SuPeR comfy! It's hard to find a comfy bed! Glad we stayed here!

Have stayed here before last year. Great place to spend a night or several nights while in Victoria. Walking distance to downtown, city park and the beach. Suites are on the small size but no complaints from me. Friendly staff who galdly give you hints on where to go and where to eat.

Although lovely, not for mobility challenged-there is no elevator or ramps. The beds were comfy, the room appeared to be freshly painted and was clean. The owners have tried to keep as much of the Victorian feel as they could. We were in a Double queen room (206) that overlooked the roof with planters. It was roomy enough for 4 adults. For those from buggy areas, you may take a moment to get used to the lack of screens-they are not necessary. The Pub (19 and older only) and the Restaurant are wonderful and there is a ramp from Government St. Note that any alcohol served in the Pub is also served in the Restaurant. Although walk-ins are welcome at all of the above, in busy months (July and August) make a reservation.

The restaurant is beautiful and the staff was fast and attentive. The southern skillet on the brunch menu tasted amazing!

Great place to go after work for a pint. Service is excellent and it's one of the very few places to play darts in town. Highly recommended if you're looking for a quiet night out with friends.

We stopped in for dinner and were instantly made to feel comfortable. Our waiter had a great sense of humour and was extremely knowledgeable about the food and wine. We both ordered the $20 - 3 course meal and we're delighted with the fresh, delicious applies, main and dessert. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the staff was lovely, and to top it all off, there was a Pokémon stop within easy reach! Highly recommend the James Bay Inn for dinner.

Historical Inn with historical characters. Room says clean bathroom is clean and bright. Radiator heaters are rad. The room itself is a bit small. But you don't really need a big place because you should be spending the whole day outside anyway. Did not try the food here. Parking can be hard to find if you arrive at dinner time. The lady at the front desk didn't seem like she care very much. Free coffee at the lobby. Overall a good stay.
