Reasonable price. Good service. Had stayed here during the Thanksgiving weekend for a night. Rooms are okayish and maintained quite well.
The only problem is that the rooms don't have enough charging points. The charging points available are under TV stands or desks and are very inconvenient to reach. Bedside charging ports would have been quite helpful.

I will say this that it has a pretty good location as far as the city goes. But in the room I noticed that there was blood on the bathroom shower curtain, and on the floor. When they came in to clean up the room the bed was not made and the towels where not replaced just refolded. So over all I would not stay here again. It will not let me post anything without giving a star, that is the only reason why I gave 1star

The room was clean and air conditioned. There was a coffee maker in the room and the complimentary muffin and yogurt were appreciated. However, I have a couple of observations. 1) A damage deposit was automatically charged to my credit card with the comment that it would be refunded in 24 - 48 hours if there was not any damage to the room. That was not indicated on their website or Trip Adviser. What assurance do I have that hotel management would not 'claim' that there was damage to the room so that they would not have to credit back my deposit? I do not appreciate the assumption of guilt on the part of the Howard Johnson organization. 2) It would have been nice if there were a stopper in the sink or if the bathtub stopper worked. Also, for the amount I paid for the room, one would hope to have glass glasses and coffee cups, not plastic or paper! Overall, a low passing grade.

I really enjoyed staying at the Howard Johnson for a few months this winter. While its not perfect they try hard to keep the surroundings looking nice. They even renovated a few rooms while I was there. I had a north facing room and really enjoyed the peace and quiet.

This isn't the best hotel for the given price. The place is really old and smells weird. The bathroom isn't clean, heating devices are really old and you need to kneel on the ground and turn knob to make it work. The lighting in the room isn't very good. They don't have mineral water or other food services except vending machines. Free parking and WiFi bit no breakfast. No locker or laundry services. There's no restaurant in the hotel. The staff is friendly and polite but relentless. I wouldn't recommend this place.

A friend came to town to visit and stayed overnight there. The service was excellent and the building is very well kept. Rooms are clean and cozy beds. Hotel also has a swimming pool and sauna.

Average hotel, worth staying for the cheap price. There is no sauna or hot tub (that we could find) as advertised on website. Pool closes at 9pm.
Fitness suite is two treadmills - no cable machine or stepper as on website.
Pub / restaurant has shut down, licence suspended. Free breakfast was a muffin and a pot of yoghurt, handed to you at reception.
Two small beds, very soft bouncy mattresses and big block pillows. One bed was on a big lean and not comfortable to be slept in.
Very hard to find power sockets in room, no USB connections.
But it has the basics, TV, good bathroom, space and good price. About $8 taxi ride to downtown, or 20min walk.

The facility was well kept and reasonably maintained. Staff were helpful and curtious, with the event facilities being appropriate for the event.

I was on holiday and came here for some karaoke and appys. I had been here a few years ago and I loved what they did with remodeling! The wings were good and the service was friendly and quick. I look forward to coming back!
