Everything you would expect from a Holiday Inn - comfortable, clean, safe. Good, affordable in-house restaurant and bar. The staff at this location is superb. Almost without fail, every staff member I encountered, directly or casually, greeted me with a smile and a "Hello". This HI has a great location (close to lots of shopping, in its own right, but right on subway and streetcar lines giving easy access to all the city's attractions). One thing of note, rooms are very small by North American standards - think standard European-size rooms, here. But if that's not an issue, rooms have all the usual amenities, including in-room safes.

Parking is reasonably accessible considering the downtown location. The rooms are nicely renovated, most notably the bathrooms, though some of the smaller rooms are quite cramped. With that being said, the suites are wonderful. A very good overnight experience overall.

We had to wait few hours in the lobby before leaving the hotel after checking out and the man who sits by the information desk was just phenomenal. He noticed we had kids with us, quickly grabbed a bunch of toys.. colors, coloring paper, water and then checked on us again and gave my kids lollipops! Kids felt welcomed, relaxed and entertained. The rooms themselves are surprisingly tiny but clean as can be, the hotel was quiet and we have no complaints.

EDIT 171028. Stayed at this hotel after leaving negative feedback. Wow, the staff were super friendly and would drop everything to come help us. They answered emails/chats extremely fast prior to our trip. The only CON I can really think of is the washrooms. They are pretty dated by 2017 standards - but apart from that I see no reason to change my rating from a 2 to a 5 star. I will absolutely return to this hotel in the future.

Great place. Starbucks is in the lobby, as is a fashionable bar. Location is great too. All kinds of food, drink and other places within a couple blocks. The room was a little small but we got the cheapest one, so that's fine. Great service at the front desk.

A shout out to Meliissa in reservations who took the time to go to the manager to help fix a screw up in a non refundable reservation with the wrong date. Thanks to her it saved our anniversary celebration. This is the kind of service that is rarely seen now days. As a priority club member I appreciate helpful friendly service. She also sent chocolate strawberry 's to our room . Great hotel!

Very nice stay, however the room size was disappointing because it was very small and narrow. Everything was provided for guests and the hotel even has it's own built in restaurant so you don't have to go outside the hotel to get food. Staff kind and welcoming. Very convenient location and overall a pleasant stay. Would come again if a larger room size was offered.

I have stayed here three times in the past few months. Great hotel, perfect location, amazing staff that goes the extra mile to help guests. Rooms are basic and simple, on the smaller side but suited our needs. The hotel's restaurant has decent food with excellent prices. The buffet breakfast has a great variety of foods for everyone's liking.

Really small rooms. Not enough space for yourself and belongings because of the size of the room. Everything felt crowded and claustrophobic. Seems clean but not a modern look as compared to other holiday inns. The location is convenient and within walking distance of many places and the Eaton centre. Staff is friendly. Overall experience was pleasant.

Staff is friendly and helpful, and the hotel is clean and modern looking. The location is very convenient to many downtown Toronto places. The rooms are pretty standard, and have coffee maker, refrigerator, and an in-room safe. My favorite part is the shower - it has a clear door that lets in a lot of light instead of a shower curtain, and has a shower head that can be taken off of the wall. The rest of the bathroom is small, with the sink awkwardly placed in the corner in front of the toilet. This placement hurts my back when using the sink. Also, the bathroom mirror is hung way too low. It cuts off pretty much my entire head unless I squat down to use it. (I'm 5'11 and I don't consider that to be overly tall.)

Great and caring staff. Take safety of their guests quite seriously. Always had a smile on their faces even at 5:00 in the morning. Would be visiting them again within the next 2 months for a longer stay.

Room was beautiful and we have a great view. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were located in an area that was surrounded by restaurants and attractions so there was lots to do with a short distance.

Rooms are clean. Very very small. Practically had to turn sideways to get past bed and closet. Barely any room in hallway, all doors were barn style doors because a regular door would not be able to open fully. Decor was modern with updated colours and clean lines. You have to pay 18$ a day for parking. And there is no free breakfast option. The views are just building walls and apartment buildings as it's in downtown. On the plus side it is a great location very near many amenities. Grocery stores, Starbucks, food, shoppers drugmart. Very close to TTC and subway. A 2 night stay on a Tuesday and Wednesday was 400$ so on the expensive side. You can definitely get a better price in an equal location with equal or sometimes better amenities. But holiday inn does provide a rewards program.

Rooms were clean, shower and bathroom were immaculate. Breakfast buffet was great. There's even a gift store in the lobby that should have whatever you need. Hotel was in a great location, walking distance from many different resturants. Depend on the room you get the view from your room window can be depressing. pool area on the 6th floor.

I used to love this hotel. About four or five years ago they renovated it and everything was new and amazing! This past visit, well, the hotel is showing its age. Walls have marks on them and the washroom looked pretty dirty.
Based on my most recent visit, I will be changing my downtown Toronto venue from now on.response / report this review
