Avoid this hotel unless you’re the party type. We booked a ‘Luxury Room’ for 3 nights this weekend. Thank We checked into our room located on the first floor, and could hear music. We assumed it was coming from the hotel bar or something, and it would eventually stop. The music got worse after midnight, and realized we must be over an event room or hall. We went down to the front desk, and we were booked into another room in the east side of the hotel.
We’re on the eight floor now, and hear some sort of loud wind blowing through the vent every 10 seconds or so. This noise is actually welcoming, because we hear our neighbours talking loudly and having a party in their room. This hotel seems to attract the party type, as you’ll hear people talking obnoxiously loud throughout the night. The hotel is quite clean, and the waiter at the restaurant was excellent. Anyhow, if you want a restful sleep, don’t stay here. It’s not quiet at all. Waste of money on ´luxury ‘.

Excellent EXCELLENT customer service. My partner had a slight mishap and we needed a shirt clean ASAP for an event. The hotel staff cleaned it within an hour and we were eternally grateful. Also did not charge us! The hotel’s inside decor is incredibly beautiful and well kept. Honestly I liked this hotel more than the Ritz Carlton Toronto. Will stay again.

What a wonderful hotel!! It sure feels royal. We had drinks at the Clockwork Terrace - beautifully decorated with real flowers. Our room was upgraded and it was fantastic. The bed was so comfortable and everything was very clean. We ordered room service for our breakfast. This was a nice treat at the end of our trip.

Stayed here for one night last year for my surgery at Dr 6ix. We were there early in the morning. The first room they gave us was dirty, housekeeping didn't get to it before the previous occupant left so we had to go back and ask them to give us a new room. I had to go for my surgery but my friend was able to get the new room key and settle in by the time my surgery was finished. I had to use the public hotel washroom to get prepared for my surgery which was a little inconvenient. But other than that hotel staff was always very nice and helpful. We visited the hotel many times for post surgery care and everyone was helpful. Couldn't take photos of the room we stayed since I was in surgery when my friend got the room key, and was heavily under sedation after I got back.

4.5 this hotel has lots of old world charm. The double room was quite small but it’s clean and the staff is great. The restaurants are quite expensive and their bakery has a small selection. The bathroom for some reason has a frosted panel which I did not like. I don’t need others to see me in the shower or on the toilet. Hated that! But the location is close to mall, arena. Cn tower and aquarium. Loved that!

Great hotel right in the heart of downtown can walk pretty much anywhere via the path or outside. Great place to go after a hockey game. Very clean very nice hotel, highly recommend the breakfast in the Epic restaurant in the lobby. Been here many times and never have had and issue, great place to stay with great and very kind staff.

One of my favourite hotels. The building is well over 100 years old, and has an elegant, royal feeling. The main lobby is something you look around and admire. I've eaten at the "Epic" restaurant and had afternoon tea in the "Library Bar". Both experiences have been fantastic.

Good overall experience. Conveniently located downtown Toronto, this hotel offers spotless rooms, comfortable beds, nice decor which represents it's history, professional service, inviting atmosphere.
Shuttle bus to and from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport is available.
The only downside was the quality of the elevators, which are surprisingly outdated. On more than one occasion, it would skip my floor, which made me waste my time riding up and down.
On the bright side, I got to see Prince Harry who happened to stay at the same hotel. Lucky me!

I frequently come to Toronto, and I primarily stay at the Royal York. It has an old-school charm, an amazing location and a full range of amenities and restaurants. I love that I can take the UP Express from Pearson and get to the hotel with a 5 minute walk. I love that the subway is right there. I enjoy my choice of places to eat or grab a drink, right onsite. The rooms are fine. I do find the shower design a bit awkward, but only hotels have eclectic shower designs as something of a standard.

This place is a real throwback. Many of the things here gave me a chuckle like a designated room for smoking pipes. That said they did a nice job with the renovations and the service had been top notch for three most part. If not for any issue not having my room ready for 3 hours this place would have been 5 star. Great location, every amenity imaginable (and some unimaginable), and a large dose of character that you really don't see much anymore. Would definitely stay again

Snoring, yes snoring. Did I pay that much money to be kept awake all night by thin walls? Yes, I did! This beautiful property and all it is, unfortunately has thin walls no better than a two story walk up. Unfortunately for us we awoke in the middle of the night to what sounded like someone in the room next to us that would benefit from a visit to the the doctor to be assessed for a sleep apnea. It was the full Canadian Pacific Rail experience all night long the grand old hotel once promised its guests. The snoring would put any old train to shame. Anyway, sorry to be the barrier of bad news but air on the side of caution, the Royal York is charming, but it is not quite. And having someone next to you sound like they are beside you can put a real damper on your sleep before you board an international flight the next day! ;) I know lucky us right

This hotel is quite elegant, with a very large lobby, a doorman, etc. Rooms are nice, if a little small. They have a convenient service where you can contact guest services by text message to request anything you need or ask questions. Staff are friendly and helpful. Library bar, just off the lobby, is very nice, a little pricey but the food is tasty and the bar is well stocked.

Me and my family stayed at the royal york for a weekend getaway. At first one of our rooms had to be switch due to the heat being stuck on. The staff did not hesitate to move us immediately. The customer service could not have been any better. The staff made all accommodations very convenient and even allowed us to keep are car in vallet parking far into the day that we left, giving us a free day of parking. The access to the entertainment district, union station, the water front and the PATH mall we also super convenient. All of this added with the welcoming Canadian atmosphere made for a non forgettable trip. I for one will make sure that all my stays in Toronto will be at the Fairmont Royal York.

For it's age, there really us a lot of use left in the place. It can be a bit hard to navigate, with a huge indoor space and not a lot of obvious directional cues. But the suites are fairly nice (on the first floor anyhow) and there are lots of convention spaces. Lots of class in the places they want there to be. And obviously it's in a good location downtown. What else do you want from me? I was there all of a day. And maybe I be going back next July. We'll see. Peace.

Hotel employees are extremely helpful and polite. The hotel has its own aroma and look that are both timeless. The locations is perfect for Toronto, it is in the middle of most attractions and a 10 min walk. The rooms are very comfortable and a good size. Room service is available 24 hours and the fridge is packed with pay if you lift items, so do not expect to put anything in it. The room has a safe and an iron.

The staff were all super wonderful; everyone was super cheerful, and eager to help. The bed was extremely comfortable, but the room was very small. For the cost per night, I expected to have a semi decent view (our room looked out at the other side of the Fairmont) let alone be able to have 2 people move comfortably around the room at the same time.

The hotel is beautiful and in perfect location. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. I had my 21 months old daughter with me and they brought warm milk to my room in the evening at no charge. Very nice.
The pool is also amazing!!

So I came here for a special occasion and was hoping for an above average experience. First off the customer service I experienced was excellent. They were very kind polite and tried to make my stay very enjoyable. However I was disappointed by the cold breakfast and the fact that even after you buy a room expecting some amenities included or provided; they sadly are not available or included. Even though the customer service was great it was not enough to redeem the disappointment of a cold breakfast that took well over the hour and a half they had said it would arrive under.

I decided to stay at the Fairmont after my typical room at another hotel was booked. I was a bit skeptical at first, not sure if the Fairmont would live up to my expectations I've had with the other hotel. My doubts quickly faded as soon as I walked in and began the check in process with a very friendly women who quickly checked me in and got my bags to my room. The rooms are modern and clean and you're located in the center of the action and close to the convention center as well as rail transportation. The prices were about right for the location and type of room and I would recommend this hotel to everyone when they visit the amazingly beautiful city of Toronto. I cannot wait to return!

I had breakfast at the Epic restaurant in the Fairmont Royal York. I quite enjoyed their coconut milk french toast it was a wonderful meal especially after returning from travel the day before. The ambience in both the restaurant and the ground floor is quite elegant and luxurious. I wonder if the rooms are as well designed and have the same atmosphere. However, I have not had the chance to stay at the Fairmont Royal York Yet! Needless to say, I can highly recommend at least having breakfast at the Epic restaurant. The staff we're very attentive and I can see myself going again
