One of the stylist who said she has 30 years experience with curly hair. This was supposed to be long layers. Here is what it looks like. My sister got her hair done. It looks chopped, whether she leaves her hair curly or straightened (as seen in pics). So disappointed, feeling $80 flushed down the toilet.
My wife had her haircut here yesterday and is in tears at how poorly and atrociously her hair turned out. Her hair cut request was a simple blunt cut leaving her hair all one length. Instead her hair came out looking like a 6-year tried to layer it. Buyer beware: be prepared to drop $65.00 plus tax on the worst hair cut of your life.
I see Laura for my cut and colour regularly she is a true artist stylist, she always does something a little different and it always looks great!
Friendly staff, good service
Always come here for waxing.
I used to be a loyal customer and frequently had my eyebrows and upper lip waxed. My first esthetician was a girl named Pauline who did amazing eyebrows each time. I was so sad the day I called to book an nd appointment and was told she had left Eccotique to work downtown. I honestly thought I would never find anyone else who compared. But then I was introduced to Maria, who truthfully did even better. She was so sweet and delivered exceptional customer service. I saw Maria for years! Sadly a few months ago she had to retire due to hand pain. Since then my luck and satisfaction with the company has gone down dramatically. It's nearly non existent at this point.
After Maria I was booked with a girl who J was told was new but very good. Well, the day of my Valentine's Day dinner with my boyfriend this girl ripped the skin off of my lip. I sat in bed crying and trying to ice my lip because it was Valentine's day and my boyfriend had planned out a huge surprise. I was also CHOKED. I called in and complained and they apologized and said my next visit would be comped.
For my next visit I was booked with someone who they said was more senior. I could tell she had more experience and for my next four or five wax sessions they went well. Then came my wax appointment today on June 9th. THE SKIN UNDER MY RIGHT EYEBROW IS MISSING. No, I have made absolutely no changes to my diet or my skin care. There us no reason for my skin to be more susceptible to ripping off. I am SO disssapointed with the lack of skills that the current staff have at the metrotown location.
I've included pictures of both my lip and eyebrow. I will definitely not be returning.
I would like to talk about my experience with Miss Amada, the manager of the Metrotown West Spa. I applied for an RMT position online last week, the second day I received a phone call from Miss Amanda, inviting me to an interview. I went to the Spa and I saw her there, a lady with forward posture which may due to kyphosis, but looked to be nice. We spent 30 minutes talking about the position, schedule and commission split, and she decided to let me fill that position. The second day I received an email from her, welcoming me to join her team, asking my personal information for employment and if I can work for more days. Everythings seems to be perfect so far, I prepared for my new practice as well as reduced my working days with my current employer, so I'll be able to spend more days in the spa as she requested.
On the day before my proposed working day, I went to the spa to check my schedule and sign the paper work. It seems that Miss Amada was not expecting my visit. She was in a rush, not really want to talk much about the job, perfunctorily talked to me like wanted me to leave as soon as possible. Besides, she insisted in getting my current employer's name, which confused me a lot. The second day, which was my proposed working day, when I called the spa, she was in a rush again, yelled at me that she called my current employer and there was a conflict, so I can't have that position now. I don't mind to find another place, I just feel weird about the unexplained conflict she mentioned. From a professional point of view, it's not a good idea to contact a candidate's current employer, because no one is happy to see their contractors looking for another place. Even that's the standard hiring procedure, which should be done before making any decision, the conflict reason still sounds more like a poor excuse. If the spa does not have enough client needs to hire another therapist, they should not post the position in the first place to avoid wasting people's time, or they can explain that this position has to wait until there are enough clients, which will be understood by most of the people, rather than giving an excuse like reason. The most ironic thing is, when I asked my employer about this, she says that she didn't receive any phone call asking about me. I don't know who is lying, but this kind of behavior is really low.
Acting professional does not making someone professional, and being a decent person is the prerequisite of being a good manager. I don't know if Miss Amada has any idea about this, or it is just to much for her. In the worst case, if there is a change or cancellation with the agreement that has already been settled, at least the other side should be informed. That's the basic principle for everyone. Unfortunately, this principle does not apply to Miss Amada. Maybe I have overestimated a shift leader who may not even had formal education as a real manager. Anyway, I want to show my appreciation for not having this position, working with someone like this can barely make the job enjoyable.
