It's not that bad if you need a cheap place stay in the downtown area overnight. I agree, though, it is pretty scuzzy on the exteriors. But do check your mattress ahead of time, and if there are no signs of bedbugs, you can breathe a sigh of relief. They have a good selection of channels on the cable box but the Wi-Fi isn't all that reliable. So if you wanna stay here just one night, it's your call. Three stars might be a little generous.
This hotel was perfect for what I needed for my first week getting set up in Vancouver. It is very central to everything, short walk to the train station, buses out the front an all kinds of food and convenience stores & library. I will admit I was a little concerned as I booked in a hurry at the airport without reading reviews however upon check in I found nothing wrong. I arrived at midnight an was greeted an check in was very quick and painless. Room was big and spacious, clean with nice AC/HEAT, decent bathroom with one of the best showers I’ve had which after 30 hours of travelling was very relaxing and pleasant (by this I mean it had amazing pressure and non stop hot water). The room was cleaned daily and the receptionists were pleasant to deal with an had no issues. It also has cable with a decent selection of channels an shows! My only problem was the wifi in which my room number wouldn’t connect An they kept saying it was my iPad or iPhone that was the issue, knowing that it wasn’t I entered different room numbers to the log in an it worked fine! For price of rooms and location there’s not a lot to complain about, such as the hotel not providing shampoo, it’s not that hard to go out an buy your own. Much easier than complaining about it in a review like others have. I would definitely stay here again if I needed a place.
Worst place. I needed to accommodate one night because I forgot my keys from apartment at work, the guy in front desk didn't let me in even he had empty room. Just because I didn't have my Bc ID or passport on me ! I had my ID from Europe and I wanted pay cash, but he was just being jerk! Do not recommend this place!
For what you pay you can't complain too much given that you're very close to downtown core. Any other hotel with better than one or two star rating would cost you at a minimum twice as much. You get what you pay for. It is clean enough.
There was no shampoo/conditioner, fridge , coffee machine. Very run down falling apart and smelly. The staff are very unfriendly, even boarding on rude at times
Nice front desk staff. Rooms are simple but clean. Good stay for a great price. Parking is included. Would come back again. They do not provide shampoo, be sure to bring it with you.
Wonderful location, view, and everything. I have no idea why this has 2.4 star reviews. Maybe it wasn't as nice in the past. It has a "movie scene" feeling to it. I love it and recommend it, especially if you want a little space from downtown and have nicer views of buildings. It's a very busy time of year and the price is definitely worth it, than running around looking for a hotel during concert and festival times.
Staff great.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Front desk worker was extremely rude and hostile. I was very polite and he was almost violently yelling at me for no apparent reason. Charged me extra for a situation I could not fix, as the worker repeatedly hung up on me when I called. Went to check out and there was nobody to be found, waiting for 20 minutes. Horrific. Rudest person I have ever spoken to in my life.
It definately nicer IN pictures. It should be downgraded to a hostel. Not worth the price. Old sheets, old fan, old bathroom. Humid Vancouver should avoid carpets? The reception looks like an old variety store. Pay 10 dollars more and stay at a real place? or 50 dollars less at a nice hostel. It didn't even provide a tiny shampoo or conditioner, for $82.00 for a single bed, at least use some air freshner and provide shampoo and condi??? The parking lot is not safe guarateed, even though it is in front of the front desk? Like can't you tell the clerk to keep an eye on the cars right in front of them? It didn't feel like my moneys worth
Early this morning shortly after witnessing the passing of my granddaughter at the BC Woman, distraught, exhausted & terribly sad I had a taxi call to find me a room with vacancy. After they so kindly arranged my room at this terrible place - I exited the taxi with my 2 carry on bags and tried to get my room. The man who came to the door coldly directed me to a side window (I guess fro protection from me - I must have looked awful) very coldly he directed me to get my credit card, and id- I explained he could use my visa as a safe keep but I wanted to pay with debit/cash - this man watched me cry, standing in the freezing cold telling him I'm from the island, have no place to stay but have everything he would need to get me a room, I explained my head was fuzzy due to exhaustion and that moments ago I watched my daughter and sons heart break over the loss of their premi - he remarked it was not of his concern, told me I had to pay with my CC and slammed the window in my face. He then stared at me as I cried calling for help and watched me stand in the freezing cold for 20 + mins. No compassion no empathy no human experience- dumbfounded, appalled and over the top angry. I've NEVER been treated so poorly by another human being - this place sucks I don't even give them a star
I have not stayed here but from what I have heard the black man in the office has absolutely horrible service.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. RACIST AND SEXIST OWNER.
I was at the childrens hospital dealing with birth complications. It was 2 A.M and my mother in law needed somewhere to stay, she went to this place here and was treated absolutely horrible by the blackman in the office. He is absolutely racist and sexist. He did not accept her payment, threw her cards on the floor and locked her outside in the cold at 2A.M with her luggage bags.
He stood there in the lobby staring at her until I showed up to pick her up.
This place already has poor reviews on here and this adds to the list.
DO NOT STAY HERE.
THE OWNER IS RACIST AND SEXIST.
So I'm a 19 year old from Cali who decided to take a road to to Vancouver with my friends. We had this trip planned out for weeks and booked out stay at this hotel long before the trip. Knowing us we picked something cheap and close to the city. But boy were we in for a surprise. This place was super small, tight spaces for parking and the free wifi is a joke.. But the worst part about it all is that the rooms a infested with bed bugs.. Crazy right, I woke up one morning with about 15 bites and was itching terribly. If you want a nice vacation I suggest you choose anywhere but here to stay! Don't let the prices fool you💀
