Good value for a basic room. Stayed here on a business trip, had no real complaints. The Chinese restaurant in the building (which is not officially affiliated with Best Western) is surprisingly good and reasonable price, and it offers some truly authentic dishes. Was pleasantly surprised by this. Only real word of warning is that the hotel is on a very busy main street - while I was at the back of the property and didn't hear the road noise, anyone toward the front of the hotel will likely be bothered by it.
The room was clean and well cared for. All amenities were good. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were responsive and took quick action on any problem we may have had.
The staff is most friendly. Our room requests were granted (ground floor and pet-friendly). Our little dog was even given treats and a nice poop bag holder full of bags, which we have continued to use.
The free breakfast was incredibly varied and delicious. It included scrambled eggs, hard cooked eggs, breakfast meats, pancake maker, toast, muffins, bagels, croissants, yogurt, juice, coffee, and tea. Very happy and friendly breakfast staff.
The property is on a very busy street, which sometimes has sirens, but not annoyingly so.
The location in Vancouver is good for those who do not want to stay in the busy downtown area, and have a car. There is not much around in the way of entertainment or attractions, so a car is necessary, although city transportation runs right in front of the hotel.
It is 3 stories with an elevator, and a guest laundry. Also a nice pool area.
We will definitely stay here again.
This property proved to be a very good choice. The room was clean, comfortable and very quiet. The breakfasts were plentiful and very tasty. The front desk staff and room service personnel performed their tasks very well. This was our first visit to the Vancouver area and this hotel helped make it an enjoyable experience.
The hotel is very convenient for Vancouver city and airport and also other places including traveling to Whistler to the north, Alberta and the Rockies to the East, Victoria and Vancouver Island to the West and USA to the south. There are plenty of eating places nearby within walking distance with a variety of choices. the biggest shopping mall in BC is 5 mins drive of the hotel on the same road. Safeway and other supermarkets are also 5 mins drive from the hotel.
The rooms are quite nice, comfortable and clean with all amenities and there is plenty of free parking at the hotel.
The breakfast which is included in the room rate is very substantial with lots of items including hot items like eggs, pancakes and waffles and there is no shortage of anything.
The service is very good and staff are very helpful. They try and give all the assistance wherever needed. They also have a very good and cheap guest laundry which is very convenient if you are traveling for a long period. Overall this is an ideal hotel and good value for money if you are visiting Vancouver. Completely recommend it.
The included breakfast was great, lots of food available. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location was not too far away from a few very good restaurants. It is on the TransCanada highway so there is some traffic going by but overall actually rather quiet. It is about a 10-15 minute walk from Royal Oak Station where you can catch a sky train to take you down town. Overall service was nice and helpful.
Decent breakfast. Motel with minor touch-ups to make it feel like a hotel but it's not. Wouldn't recommend staying here, better options for the price. Although, it is clean and has an outdoor pool and access to a full size gym facility across the street for those who can benefit from that.
Overall good experience. Easy check in and out. Room was clean and the bed very comfortable (King pillow top). Recently re-decorated. Good full breakfast with lots of choices and lots of seating. Convenient location to downtown access with nearby restaurants as it is on a main street. Only difficulty was it was noisy at night. Had the ambulance parked outside our room for one night, so many disturbances as they were called out. We were never told this would happen, or we would have requested a different room. Good value for money otherwise.
Been updated outside looks good but inside still needs work.Advertise as a pet friendly hotel but no where near by do they have any grass to take your dog to the washroom you have to drive to a place.
Always great service. They know my name in sight and always accomodate my monthly schedule. Great value for the money.
I recently spent two nights at this hotel. Though I wouldn't call it a BW "Plus" its still a decent hotel. Fairly quiet rooms if you ask for a room facing away from the street. Bed was cozy. Room was clean. Staff very friendly and accommodating.
Close to Metro Town which was nice. Easy to get to didn't get lost during through drive. The rooms are large the mini fridgein the room was noisy. The staff person at check in was friendly helpful pretty chatty took her time.
Very nice hotel and very friendly staff. My room had a kitchenette and was very spacious. I very much enjoyed my stay, and I'll be back!
Note that they are in the process of doing some renovations there (as of January '17), but that did not impact my stay at all.
